Dress from Petsmart 2 Attachment(s) Someone posted yesterday about a dress they found at Petsmart. She said it was priced @ $30.00. When I saw it I thought is was adorable but like her I am unwilling to pay that much for a dress :rolleyes: I thought to myself, I could make that for soooooo much cheaper. I have been making some of the collar bandanas & a few dog beds to put on e-bay but had never attempted any "clothes". I spent all day in my sewing room yesterday trying to come up with a pattern & this is what I came up with. Let me know what you think. I'm going to be making more this afternoon, I had so much fun making this one ! ! |
That is sooooo cute!! The only consern might be the straps for the shoulder since they are thin but I wouldn't know for sure until having it on my little girl. It is very cute though!! :thumbup: :good job: |

That is adorable!! You did a great job. I've noticed that Petsmart's doggie clothes are overpriced. You can get lucky if you catch the clearance, but otherwise I won't spend that much. Jeeze, my 5 year old daughter's easter dress was 26.99! So I could never justify spending more on a dress for Rhapsody, lol. I did get a couple shirts last fall for Max, our YorkiePoo. They were being clearanced out for $7.00, but they were regularly $19.95. :aimeeyork Jess and the pack! |
I thought about the straps too, but when I put it on Lexus I found that they are really just "there". The velcro on the bottom is what holds it all securely. The ribbon with the d-hook is all double stitched so I feel confident that is secure also. Thanks for all the feedback, I think I will go ahead & put them on ebay tonight :) |

You did a really good job! You guys are all making me so jealous on here, it seems like everyone is learning to sew their pups clothes, I couldnt even make a pillow if i tried :eek: |
that is very cute, do you make anything for Boy yorkies? what is your ebay ID, I want to check out you store. are they like lil harness/ jackets? I haven't yet bought any clothes for mine and my daughter is always asking me to, but I think 30 is a lil to much too. Trust me I won't sell them for anything near $30 ! ! ! That's ridiculous. (Right now I have a dog layered ruffled skirt on there that sells tonight for $1.99(current bid), cutest thing I've ever seen, especially on. So I sell things pretty cheap) I look at it like this, I enjoy sewing & making things & I REALLY enjoy seeing my "kids" all dressed up :D So I figure if I can make others happy also, for a decent price, why not share the FUN ;) I don't think I am allowed to give my ebay name, it says in the "rules" not to unless you are a donating member. But you might be able to get it from the skirt above with a search ? ? ? If anyone knows if I can post it let me know & I will. I am new to this group so I really don't know all the rules & I certainly don't want to get kicked off, this group is GREAT ! ! ! I have learned SOOOOO much :) |
