Jenny~ I know that I want a blue brush, but what would you suggest for a Pekingese? Thanks! Tammy |
[QUOTE=mimimomo;3411032] I personally like the Small brushes. It has a firm enough cushion to brush out mats if used together w/a good conditioning/detangling spray. It also helps tremendously if line brushing. Those unfamiliar w/ line brushing, that's when you start w/a section of hair & brush downwards in layers from the bottom working your way up. Brushing this way smooths every strand & the small size allows for easy access to the legs, chest/tummy, head/face areas. QUOTE] Color brush to order? Or does it matter with the small ones? |

just sent in an order for a small brush. Carol |
Just a note about the cushion softness: The cushion firmness/softness are very slight. You cannot tell the difference of the very soft & soft unless you were looking for it. The standard soft is significantly firmer than the soft. The softer the brush, the more 'give' it has, so it will glide through tangles. If your Pup is very sensitive to tangles & mats, the soft brushes are recommended since the pins do not get caught on the mat. But you can feel & hear it, so you can go in w/a comb & work it out. If your fur baby tolerates brushing & gets tangles from wearing clothes or a harness, choosing a firmer brush is recommended. The firmer brush pins & cushion does not move as freely as the softer brushes, thus gets caught in the tangles. The pins are able to penetrate stubborn mats & it will brush it out. Turbo is ultra sensitive & any little tug or pull will have him crawling up my arm. When I use the Blue brush on him, he'll sit there content like he's getting a massage, but it does not brush out tangles. He has thin cottony hair & he tangles easily around the legs, neck (from harness) & around the ears & head (from doing the killer shake whenever he plays w/his toys). He also hates combs! I try to be super gentle, a hair or 2 will get pulled & send him whimpering up my arm. Whenever he sees a comb, he either hides under the bed or goes into his house. So, I have to use the Small brush on him to remove the tangles. I line brush & when I encounter a tangle, I pinch the hair closest to his skin & brush it out. I also keep him in a puppy cut since he tangles so easily. It also helps tremendously if the high rubbing areas: arm pits, under belly & inner legs are shaved, since that area is sensitive. Hope that makes sense! Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have, I'll be happy to help.:D Quote:

Are the new colors the softest brushes? Rosie has the blue one. She has a silky coat and I keep her longer. The blue has been perfect for her. But I do love the new colors!! |
These brushes are great! and Jenny is a doll to work with. :) |
Hi, Just sent you an e mail with a question. Would like to order a brush. |
Okay please dont get mad at me but I have never heard of these brushes. What makes them better then others? If they are better for my babies then I want to get a brush and comb. |

The Madan pin brushes has beveled pins, so if you run it up & down your arm, it doesn't hurt. The 3cm pins also penetrates the hair down to the shaft so the hair is smoothed. It is also designed by a Show Judge. The cushions of the Regular/Medium sized brushes has different softness levels for different types of hair. The softer cushion for silky hair, while firmer cushion are for thicker hair. But this is not a rule, the firmer brushes can be used on silky hair, it really comes down to personal preference. If you have any other questions, you can post it here (so anyone else w/the same question can see), or you can PM me if you'd prefer. I will be happy to help.:) |
thanks Jenny I just got my small brush. It is working nicely for Jamie who has a somewhat modified cotton coat. |

I ordered and received the pink pin brush which is ok but no better than any other, the steel tail comb is too sharp at the tip and I can't even use it to part the coat, the band scissors don't even cut, plus they are very flimsy. These products are sub standard and I can't believe the price is going up even more. I find it appalling. |
