I'm curious. Has anyone tried it? Or looked at the website?

I'm taking a peek right now but I don't see where it runs on a Mac?

I am trying it, It won't let you put Owner unknown in pedigrees and I'm not too keen on having to put a call name in on all dogs. If you put a call name that is all that shows on the pedigree.

I am looking it over and am thinking of linking it to a breeder that has asked for something like this before and I sent her to the breeders standard...but do not think she liked it as it was missing key info...
How much is this going to cost?

Do I get a discount if I refer people?? :D

I found the price also on the site..:rolleyes: was too excited and didnt take the time to look for the answer...

I think the call name is a required field, but I will ask the husband and get back to you on that.

Here is Dan's responses to the questions posed so far:

I created a temporary “test” Gmail account. It is: UDBS.test@gmail.com password: dogdogdog
The next release will have the problem solved.

As to the “Unknown Owner” I have a solution.

As to the “Callname” –copy / paste the registered name into the callname field. The callname is the basis for all the lists of dog’s names.

As to “callname” on the pedigrees, I will make that an option.

Further updates:

1. The next release of the software will enable the use without Gmail, and without Microsoft Outlook. However, without one of these the e-mail functions will not work. Meanwhile: People can use this gmail account: UDBS.test@gmail.com with the password: dogdogdog.

2. The next release of the software will allow full integration with Microsoft Outlook.

3. You no longer need to type in a separate Call Name when creating a New Dog. Now you can simply click a button to copy the registered name data into the call name.

4. The software was shipped with an error in the database. To fix this error, create a contact with the name “Unknown”, and save it. This will allow the use of “Unknown” for “owner’s name” when creating a new dog.

5. The next release of the software will enable full USDA APHIS report generation.

6. The next release of the software is scheduled for Friday, October 22, 2010.

Why does the weight prediction chart not work? Maybe it is user malfunction but when I click it I get and error code?

This is a Minor programming error. It will be fixed in the next release, which should be next week. Thanks for the "eagle" eyes.

New release on Friday the 22nd will fix minor problems that were identified.

10. Rabies shots due dates incorrect--fixed.
11. Litter set up--date of birth--bug--fixed.

NOTE: All of these improvements are included in the latest download.

NOTE 2: If you have an installed version of The Ultimate Dog Breeding Software, do not reinstall the program. Instead download the upgrade ONLY. If you download the upgrade, your data will be protected. If you re-install, then any data you've entered will be lost.

DO NOT RE-INSTALL. UPGRADE INSTEAD.

Upgrade #2 Is Being Planned

Upgrade #2 will include all of the following new functions:
1. Enable the use of ANY e-mail system.
2. Provide for lab tests for dogs. This will enable you to record test results for many issues including brucellosis as well as others.
3. Provide a method to track "points" for championships. It will do this for AKC, ARBA, IABCA, UKC, and NAKC.
4. Provide a "Kennel-at-a-glance" capability to see your entire kennel on one screen.

I can say I am quite impressed so far. This has everything to keep track. I have always kind of slacked and did when I made the time in the paperwork dept. This program and pretty easy to use and quite user friendly. I just fished putting my dogs info in there.
Cannot wait to see what others think....

I think the free trial period is going to be shortened with the next release to 14 days. So now is a good time to be trying the software.

The Ultimate Breeding Software Program has been worked and reworked with the help of some very dedicated breeders. All the bugs have been fixed and new features have been added.
