Any belly bands for sale? 1 Attachment(s) hello everyone! I need some help here... I recently adopted a male chihuahua from a friend that had to move to the city So sami has a playmate but teddy (chihuahua ) has taught Sami to lift his leg  well sami has watched teddy doing this and now I guess there is this male domination laying down terrirtory issue going on in our home, So I thought I would ask since I have not been on in a while, I realize someone here may have posted this question? And I dont want to be booted off as I have been so busy remodeling my home I haven't had the time. But with all this peeing problem with the boys I do not wish to wash and repaint walls! How's everyone doing??? :wavey: |
I can help you out if you like. I don't have any belly bands on my site but I am more than willing to make up a few for you. I have for other people and just sell them off site. Email me at joyb413@msn.com or PM me and I'll be more than happy to work something out.:) I have a stud male so I know what your going through. He wears a belly band all day. They work great. :) |
Joy, can you explain to me how the belly bands work? Do you have a place for, like a kotex pad to be put in it? Don't the males get sores from the wetness rubbing their bellies? Don't the belly bands turn on the dogs? Sylvia |
HOw exciting to have a new addition! Congratulations! I make some belly bands too. The kotex pad sticks to the the lining of the belly band. Most dogs are not irritated by the bands. I spoke to one person with a chi that had such sensitive skin that it did make him break out in a rash and lose some hair. But I think if you keep them clean and let them air out occasionally there shouldn't be a problem. |

The belly bands attach with velcro and I have never had a problem with them giving any sores or turning. I only use the non fragrant kind of kotex. And I make sure and change him frequently. Its kinda funny because I call to Shiloh to have his diaper changed and he comes running.. lol They have really been a lifesaver here.. He sleeps in his kennel at night and I always take it off from him then. Hope this helps.. Your Yorkie Friend, Joy |

Emailed you!!! |
I'd check on eBay. There are rescue groups that sell things like that. You would get an excellent band and help out the rescues. |

Hi Joy, I was just reading your posts on the belly bands and was wondering....do you keep them on them whenever they are out of their crates? Do you take them off and on when you want to take them outside to pee or just let them use the belly band the whole time?? Samson is partly house trained and he is starting to mark and I didn't know if putting these on him would mess up his house training. If I decide to get some could I buy them from you? I know you said you don't really sell these but I thought I'd check to see if you'd maybe make me a couple? |

Hi: I was wanting to order some more of the belly bands I bought on e-Bay awhile ago and now I can't find them. So I was very interested in this thread and what people are using, etc. I started with the Markout wrap (http://www.markout.com/). It has some things to recommend it: 1. It fits well. 2. It stays put. 3. It seems comfortable, they don't seem to mind it. 4. It moves with them and doesn't shift too badly. Things I don't like about it: 1. They're expensive. 2. They wear out rather quickly. The elastic loses it's stretch and the velcro seems to lose it's grab. 3. They have to be handwashed. They get all gnarled up in the washing machine. Then a friend recommended the e-Bay version which is a wrap with a velcro strap. The wrap itself is made out of a stretch terry kinda like a sports sock and has absorbent padding and catches anything the pad misses. They last forever and machine wash and dry beautifully. But like I said, I can't seem to find them anymore. I've been given some "jock strap" types by a friend that were really cute, but they didn't stay on for a second. So, my advice is to get several different ones and try them. I'll be checking out some fellow YT members' products as well. Also, I have had my best luck with incontinence pads such as Poise. They make a panty liner size that works very well. I sent my husband to the store to buy some one time and he got all embarrassed about buying feminine hygiene products and I had to tell him it was actually worse than that... And finally, I haven't given up on the training. I know my precious little man wants nothing more than to please me and although I'll NEVER trust him at my mother's house, for instance, I do see a day when he'll be trustworthy. CJ |
