I have a maltese that has become quite a barker... I am thinking of trying this, I dont want anything that would hurt them..

I have this exact same one and they are AWESOME!! It doesn't hurt them, and I only had to use it for about two weeks before Chloe realized not to bark like crazy in the house.

I need something like this for outdoors. Do you think this would work outdoors? I need it for a pool area.

I got it at Petsmart. It was called petsafe ultrasonic barking control.

i have this same device. it is inconsistent - doesn't pick up her bark sometimes even when located close to her pen. however, it DOES work when the bark activates it. at this point, i'm grateful to have something to stop the barking if only for a few minutes at a time. ;)
