To All the Wonderful YT Sellers :):

We hope, as always, everyone's sales are through the roof - you all offer such wonderful products to us here at YT.

We have noticed there may be some confusion as to the rules for posting in the For Sale section. Since so many sellers make an effort to follow the rules as they are written, it is unfair if others don't quite follow the rules, or are unaware of the rules.

We are asking that ALL sellers, newbies or old-bies, please re-read The Rules For Selling and then post here that you have indeed reviewed them.

After reading the rules, if there is any confusion - please post any questions and someone can then respond (an experienced YT seller, mod, admin, member etc).

In particular, we want to point out the rule for "bumping" one's own thread, which seems to need additional focus:

"If you are selling any items, you are allowed ONE bump of your thread. A bump is when you reply to your own thread so that it goes to the top of the first page of threads in the forum. When you bump it is up to you. You may answer any questions people have of your product, but any post not related to a question will be considered a bump. Responding to comments on your thread is considered a bump. You may privately message (PM) those members that comment on your thread. Bumping threads for other members is not allowed.

If you have multiple fabrics or items or attachments to post, your replies to your thread must be made within ONE HOUR of your initial posting otherwise it will be considered a bump."

Ann - Thank you so very much for this post. I have read and re-read the posting rules and I sincerely hope that I am not in violation. I will work EXTRA hard to do the right thing to give all of our wonderful vendors here at YT an equal opportunity to share their products.

Thank you for this post! I get frustrated when I see others in violation when I TRY SO VERY HARD to follow the rules as they are written. Bumping threads seems to be the one rule that is overlooked by many, I think it is mostly an oversight though and maybe they hadn't read the rules entirely.

I definately Value YT and will continue to follow the Vendor Rules .. thanks again!!

I totally agree :). I think people just forget sometimes. If you do ever see violations, feel free to hit "report post" and we can send a friendly reminder to the seller. :)

I've reread them, too. Thanks for everything you do to make sure everyone follows the rules here on YT. Your hard work makes YT an awesome community to be a part of. :thumbup::thumbup:

I always read them every time I post something in this area of the forum, lol... I over think everything and wan to just make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

So, we're allowed 2 threads per week? Like, I already have 1 thread up that I made last night but say I wanted to make another tomorrow then I can, right? Then I would have to wait 'til when to make another post of things for sale?

This is from Rule #1:

"The week runs from Sunday to Saturday and is based on Pacific Standard Time or Pacific Daylight Time (the time it is in California). If you post a new thread on Tuesday, you may next post a new thread starting the next Sunday. If you post a new thread on Saturday, you may next post a new thread the next day, Sunday."

Thanks! I have reread the rules. We definitely want to follow the rules set up for everyone to keep it fair for all the sellers here. :thumbup:

1. YorkieTalk Donating members (those who have donated $25 or more) can post two Product For Sale threads per week. Members with commercial online stores may not post any For Sale threads unless they have donated $25 or more.

Then there's that, so does that mean we're allowed 2 per week? Then when that week is up and Sunday comes, we can make 2 again? Right?

I have read the rules and have to be honest, I've bumped my threads before without knowing I was doing that.:( I was just answering questions that were asked. I promise to be better and try very hard not to bump. To be honest, I didn't even have a clue as to what bumping was:rolleyes::D

Answering a direct question about your products is not considered a bump, but responding to general comments is considered a bump. I think most of us do a good job discerning between bumps and answering :)
