Dress for charity 4 Attachment(s) Hi All, I have created a Breast Cancer awareness dress and the profits will go to charity. I have attached a picture of the dress and it can be custom fit for your dog. $10.00 from every sale will go to Beacon house and Paws on Parade. The Beacon house is in Green Bay WI and it is a place that helps people battleling catastrophic illness such as cancer. The Paws charity is a place that trains theraputic dogs that are used to lift the spirits of those struggling with diseases. You know how our dogs lift our spirits every day and I thought I wanted to do something for charity. The person I will be sending the money too is Susan Gee and if you would like to send contributions to her directly please let me know and I can send you her address and give you a tax i.d.# so you can write it off on your taxes as a charitable contribution. Thanks for considering this dress for your baby and know that the money is going to a worthy cause. Thanks again Melinda Little eBay Store - SASSY PETWEAR: DRESSES, DIAPERS, BOY HARNESS SHIRTS sameindex |
price of dress Forgot to mention but the price of the dress is $22.99 Thanks again Melinda |
Thats really cute! What a great cause also. My oldest daughter is getting married in Oct. and we went to "BRIDES FOR BREAST CANCER" and found her dress. Its a $4,000.00 couture dress, brand new, gorgeous, and we got it for under $600.00. All proceeds go to the cause. Her paternal g-ma had a double mastectomy 5 years ago but is doin well now. Great idea! Good Luck! |
That is a beautiful dress and such a great cause. If only Kodie was a girl.:thumbup:Two thumbs up to you. |
What a great thing for such a cause. If only Hot Rod was a girl. Good Luck!:) |

Ok, I'm going to try this again. Hands weren't typing all that well this morning. :( Melinda, I just wanted to say, the dress is beautiful! What a kind, generous thing you are doing, donating part of the proceeds. I'm so glad your Mom, is a "Survivor". My Aunt was not so fortunate. Sheila |

This is the 'only' way you can? Oh, sweetheart, what you are doing is incredible, and you know the old saying, every little bit helps. If I ordered two dresses directly from you; would you be able to donate more? I am so glad your Mom is a 'tough bird'. You tell her to stay that way! Hugs, Sheila |

neck - measure around the neck chest - measure just behind the front legs AROUND the broadest part of the chest topline - measure from nap of neck (where collar sits) to where tail begins. Also don't measure to tightly on the chest allow for furr and activity. Thanks again Melinda |

Yes, I figured the E-Bay listings were costing you a pretty penny. I order bows from a gal that has an E-Bay site, and another on-line store. I order from her on-line store, because it actually is less expensive. (Sure, sometimes you can win an auction and it's less but I usually have specific bows I want, so it's cheaper to buy from her on-line store) And in this case, I love the idea that you can donate more! I'll PM you some measurements over the weekend. I hope lots of YTer's will participate. The dresses are lovely and it is such a good cause! I'll be proud to have my girls wear dresses in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. I'm also very proud to know you. Sheila |
Well it is good that you have a doctor that is familiary with you and your family history. I too have a great doctor but it took me a while to find her! She always spends plenty of talking time as well as never minds ordering tests she thinks i need. She is a true compassionate physician and it seems there are too few of them these days. Yes i would love to have an online store and one day i hope to then I won't give e-bay $600-$700 a month in fees!! It is getting ridiculous but it is a good avenue for me at this time. Ok just let me know when you are ready to order I will be here when you decide. thanks so much Melinda |
I fired 7 doctors in 5 years, getting sicker all the time, before I found my D.O. 6 years ago. I'd love to move down to S.IL and be near my 1 year old twin grandsons, but it's pretty risky, trying to find another good doctor. Your doctor sounds like mine; compassionate, takes plenty of time with me each month, and never hesitates to order a test. The 'hard-t-find' type these days. E-Bay charges you $600.00-$700.00 in fees each month?! That's quite a racket they've got goin'! |
Oh yes you wouldn't beleive. You pay a listing fee, when you sell an item then you pay a 10% seller fee and then pay pal gets their fee when you get paid so I think they get a total of 25% of the total sale price it may be more. My mom does the bookkeeping but i know its expensive! Our average is $600 sometimes more and sometimes less depending on how much we sell. We have like 400 or more items listed so we have a ton of listing fees so we use the store listings alot because its cheaper for the initial listing but they get their money if we sell an item. Also we pay $49 a month for the premier store fee to have the option to list in the store. So it is a money maker for them. I just haven't had time to learn to build my site and I have found a guy that will do it. I just don't have the money right now to pay for it hehe. I could build it if i had the time but i have been busy lately making cheerleader outfits and other spring dresses and the breast cancer dress. ttysoon Melinda |
Wow, Melinda, that's outrageous! I wonder if a YT'er might build your site for you, in exchange for some clothes. Just a thought. I hate to see you pay so much to E-Bay. Sheila |
3 Attachment(s) I know what you mean Sheila. I know what I want its getting someone to do it at a reasonable price. I got a guy named Nathan who said he would do it for $780 and $100 a month maintenance. Its not the maintenance fee that is the problem its the down payment hehe. If i didn't have to pay so much to e-bay then I could make the down payment but Mom and I don't make that much money doing this it just helps pay the vet bills for our pets. I haven't drawn but one salary in over a year hehe. Mom gets any money. I started this business and she wanted in so I just pretty much give her any extra money that comes in since she files the taxes for the business. She use to be a controller and tax preparer so she knows how to do all that and I just let her so i don't have to pay an accountant to do it. I wish I would have met Nathan last year when the business was up but with the economy being so bad sales are slower. I just hope I can raise alot of money wtih the Breast Cancer dress to give to Susan Gee she is an inspiration to me! She works with so many women who have breast cancer and her dog Chyna is a therapy dog. Here are a few pics of her baby and some of the dresses she has purchased for her. She is a cutey and I named one of my dogs in her honor. ttysoon Melinda |
Melinda, How about posting in the 'Yorkie Products Wanted' section, that you would like to do a barter system: web-site for clothes. Maybe you could work out a reasonable number of outfits, to get it set up, and then you could manage it. $780.00 seems like a high price to set up a site. I also wonder if you could actually do a good amount of business here, and in the Spoiled Maltese forum. There's got to be a way for you to make the money without being over-charged E-bay fees. YT'ers and SM'ers are relly great about buying from their own members. Your a good daughter giving your Mom the extra money. I think Susan Gees' Yorkie, Chyna is dreallyarling. I love that name, too! Sheila |
3 Attachment(s) That would be great Sheila are you going to post it or should I? Also I loved that name as well and it had to be the perfect baby to give that name and I spelled it the same way. Her registered name is McKnights Delightful Chyna Doll and here is the pic of our little girl that we named after Susans Chyna. Her Yorkie is beautiful isn't she and she does such great work bringing joy to the sick. Melinda |
Hi, Melinda. The weather keeps knocking out my connection. Tornado warnings in effect here. I think you should post it, since you know what you need on your site, and you can arrange the barter agreement. You might also want to post it under "Everything Else", as well. I vaguely remember awhile back, someone posting, offering a web-site in exchange for a puppy. So, I know there are members here that know how to do it. (I'd do it for you for free, but what I know about computers, you can fit in a thimble, and still have room.) I just love your little Shih Tzu, Chyna! Her coloring is lovely. I had neighbors in my old neighborhood that had a tiny little 5# Shih Tzu named Gizmo. He was a cutie. Sheila |
