Can someone help? I am looking into opening a kiosk at one of our local malls to sell clothing for dogs. I know the ins and outs of opening a real estae buisness and a mortgage company but nothing in the way of retail. What I would like to know first is where to look for wholesalers and where to buy bulk products. We dont have a decent store or pet store that sells the cute and adorable clothing i see online. I know many pet owners in my area would go nuts for it. If someone would like to help or advise me on the best way to go about this please pm or email me. I would greatly appreciate it :D Sue |

Good luck with your new busines and I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Pet-Edge is the only wholesaler that I know of. And I'm not sure that helps at all! Try pm-ing one of the people who retail, I'm sure they would love to help! |
Well, I don't know too much, but I have been to some websites of clothing manufactures and they usually have a link for wholesale information for retailers. The first step would be to figure out the different manufacturers you wish to carry and then get their catalog and start ordering (assuming you have gotten the proper wholesaler authorization). A couple of websites to check out are www.goobyfashion.com and www.louisdog.com |
Just some thoughts for you... I can't tell you how many people have approached me on ebay to make a deal for my items for wholesale. I currently work with several. Ebay might be a good place to start looking. If you see something you like, email the person and ask if they would cut you a little deal if you bought a few items in bulk. A lot of people wouldn't turn that down. It's good for you especially since you could make much more on those items in a shop or mall kiosk than they are selling them for on ebay (there is just so much competition on ebay!). Then you could offer more unique items, and not just commercial items that are all over the internet. There is a lady in our local mall that just started what you want to do, all of her stuff is unique and handmade, she said she does VERY well selling it. Another way to get started is to take things on consignment, people tell you what they want for their items, you mark up the price a percentage so you can profit too. I do that with a lady that travels to dog shows (she specializes in gourmet dog treats). She cuts me a check when any of my outfits sell, if it doesn't sell she sends it back to me. Good luck! I have thought of doing a kiosk myself one day. |
I would be willing to make some stuff for you. I cant make a ton of stuff but I would be more than willing to make some. I think you could really do good with a shop like that especially with hand made things. I personally love hand made things especially for my dogs or jewlery. |
Hey you should check out www.petedge.com . I saw that they sell displays for doggie items and other stuff like that, that you would probobly need for a kiosk. And you could pick up some cool wholesale stuff from them. ;) Good luck I think that sounds like a awesome idea! |
