Hey Jenn,
I actually have that and tried to get Kobi to use it (not very consistent..my own fault :rolleyes:) but it didn't work. I do still have it and I guess I'm hoping one day to use it, but I don't know how it would work versus a regular bell. Sorry that wasn't much help :(

Mojo goes to the rug at the front door and waits....if I don't see him, he comes looking for me. Ha!

I thought it would be good to use with Lily....but I think she will gradually learn from Mojo. ((I can only hope)) She is good....she will run upstairs to her pee-pad up there....sometimes (very seldom) does she use the one downstairs. BUT we are home all day most days, so the going outside is better for us...and they enjoy it more!

Bell Training
 
Laila is 5 months old and continues with "accidents" She seems to know when she has had an "accident" just by her behavior. She goes day's without going on the floor and then it is like starting all over. Some told me about "Bell training" How does it work and what dose it take to train her. :confused: She our little baby but even babies need to get house broken... Any thought would be GREATLY accepted.

i have maggie trained with the bells. it was quick and very effective!! every single time i would take her out, i would make her ring the bells. i would take her little paws and ring the bells with them. i remember her sitting there playing with the bells...and every time she would hit them, i would scoot her butt outside ;) she finally caught on. she realized that if she wanted to go out...she rang the bells. if she didn't...she doesn't touch them LOL

i would be afraid this might be too difficult for them to push. but i would have to play with it in person to determine that i guess. :) the bells take very little effort to make them make noise whereas this looks like the pup would have o push in on it to make it ring??

i used to have a big paw print door bell for my great dane. but he was HUGE and just nudged it with his nose to make it ring.

There was someone on here that sells training bells on there website. I just can't remmeber who it is.

Ollie loves to ring his little chime. I like it cause i can hear him when he wants out. He caught on quite quickly but still at 7 months has some accidents. I think the price is high. I have a tiny wind chime and i tied it to hang from the door with yarn. It rests against the door but one little nose or paw works great!!!I can even hear it when i am upstairs.

I agree! Roxie was also trained to use a bell to go outside at 7 months old. Not hard at all. I got her to hit it first by putting a little cream cheese on it and praising her alot. Now she is almost 3 years old and its been a lifesaver. It can be a little annoying when she hits it, you open the door, she takes a sniff of the air outside and goes and lays back down. :eek: I swear ishe does it on purpose sometimes.
