LOOKING for a Sweater / Harness combo all in one Hello, Now that the season is changing here in the mid atlantic, I am looking for a Sweater, and that sweater to have a ring for a leash, do they make a combination sweater for the cold, plus acting as a harness all at the same time? I currently have a PUPPIA harness, but PUPPIA is cotton and it is just a vest covering 33% of Duchess body, I need to warm up at least 70% of her body when I take her for her routine walk. Can anyone give me any advise? Duchess is going to experience her very first cold season. Thanks in advance. |
1 Attachment(s) I haven't seen sweaters with the D-ring, possible because it might tear the knit, but just last night I bought a coat with one. It seems really warm and has long sleeves, its the same material as people fall/winter coats. Here's a picture...I bought it at our walmart, its a brand called Max-A-Million, and it was only about $8. |
There are several YT members on here who make fleece Hoodies with attached D rings. I use those all the time in the fall and winter on my two and it works out great. :) Although Rudy is much more of a puller than my Lucky, so sometimes, we actually pull the Hoodie back and attach the leash to his harness, which we keep on him all the time. I'd check with the featured yorkie sellers. I'm sure someone makes them. That's a really cute jacket you bought. |
What I do, is I take regular hoodies or sweaters that I buy and make a button hole stitch where the harness hits on my dogs so I can use the harnesses I feel secure with and just pull the Dring through the hole.. I hope that makes sense :) |
Fleece with a D-ring would be good, as a knitted sweater would strech to much and she could come off, should will come off , as it happend to me at a real bad time.... |
I have the fleese with D ring and I love it!! It is cute and practical. I do have jacket with D ring and I love that as well!!! I think I got my fleese from go.fetch but they are closed right now... |

From experience I can say that it is better and more secure to have a button hole for the D-ring than putting a D-ring right on the flexible material of a sweater or sweatshirt. I custom make those sweaters and sweatshirts for a reasonable price even with custom embroidery... |
