Cute Raincoat Hey all! i know someone can help me. i think i'd like to get a raincoat for Edgar. it's getting close to the rainy season and i hate him getting all wet when we go for walks. he doesn't normally like to wear "clothes" but i think this might need to be the exception. he's also a pretty big yorkie, but i'd still really like a "cute" one. can anyone help? (i'd love it to have crazy flames or skulls or froggies or something) thanks! |
1 Attachment(s) I bought this cute raincoat from some boutique on line. It cost me way too much money and he hates it! Can you tell by this picture? Try an inexdpensive one first so you don't waste you money on something he won't wear. The yellow ones in the local pet stores are cute. Wish I bought one of those instead. Bud hates clothes also. |

oh my goodness! look at that thick braid! i did look up camo raincoats dog on google and found 1 or 2. i'm not sure if he'd dig the sleeves on one i saw, but i liked it!! you guys are so great to share. |
Yes Petsmart does have raincoats they are soooo cute!!!! I was just looking at them over the weekend! |
2 Attachment(s) Here's one I made for Gizmo. lmao...it was a wee too big then, but it fits better now. I found a pattern at Walmart and bought some waterproof fabric remnants. So, if you don't find one you like, you can maybe try to make your own. |

They had them at old navy when I was there the other day. We had a rain coat for Logan that he doesn't wear. Let me check & see if I still have it & if I do I'll sell it to you cheap. It was lined in flannel though so it'd be more for the fall. |

Petsmart has some that look kind of cute http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2032067&Ne=2 I got one for Max last year, from it must have been Petco....I don't like it much; it's got a piece of elasic on the underside in back that I suppose is supposed to fit under the back legs and the front of it is kind of like a ruffle (for lack of a better description), instead of being more like just a one piece coat. It's a "Dickens Closet" one, so don't get one of them:thumbdown . The water just dripped all over and the ruffle thing dragged in the mud and made a bigger mess, LOL. |
thank you zoey and breny. edgar is kinda bigger and i haven't measured him lately. i probably should. but i do know without a doubt that he is NOT an XS. oooo how i wish... hehe. and thank you for the ruffle dragging alert. i really don't buy him many items to wear, and it makes sense to think of those things. |

Old Navy!! thank you all for your help. i was in old navy last night with Raven to get him some "Back to school" clothes. i almost forgot! but when i went to pay i saw the "doggie endcap" and went to see if they had some cute stuff. omgz! they had raincoats. i was so excited. i got a small b/c the didn't have a medium and large was huge. i put it on edgar when i got home and he hates it!! but it looks soooooo cute. i wish it was maybe an inch longer on the body, it comes to the base of his tail. edgar just stood there with his head to the side looking away from me. then my husband called him and he looked, then turned away and stood there staring into space until i took it off. maybe having clothes on will help him be a calmer puppy! hehe. you guys were great helps. i may get a 2nd one still. it was $12.50+tax. |

Max used to do the same thing when I'd put clothes on him...he would just stand in one spot and look like he was ashamed of himself, or like he was being punished for something, LOL. I felt so bad, but he's pretty used to most stuff now. The only thing that he really hates is stuff on his feet...I bought him one pair of boots, thinking he'd LOVE them when we were up in Napa and it was rainy b/c his feet wouldn't get all wet....he stood in one spot in the family room with one back leg up in the air and wouldn't move a muscle, LOL! I was nearly in hysterics b/c it looked so funny, but I had to be discreet so as not to hurt his feelings, heehee...... |
