Help! Harnesses Question I'm sure this has been posted a million times and I did a search but couldn't really find what I was looking for. I am looking for a good harness for Lucy, right now she is using Lil Paws brand harness, which I love however it is getting a little tight around her neck and I want to get her a new one that fits her better. My problem is that I have only seen the lil paws harness in one size. So my question is what other brand of harnesses that buckle easily like the lil paws brand are there? And where can I find them? Or what is the best harnesses for these lil pups, we take her outside to potty so I want a harness that I can leave on her all the time. Thanks in advance :) |
I actually meant Li'l Pals brand...oops |
If you're looking for a high quality harness and don't mind paying a little bit more a lot of members recommend Buddy Belts, I ordered mine last night and can't wait. They are great for animals prone to collapsing tracheas. |

I was looking at them too and I wondered if they were irritating to the skin if the dogs hair is cut very short for the summer. Does anyone have them? Is the leather very stiff or softer? Do they run true to size? Any feedback would be appreciated. |
The Li'l Pals harnesses I have seen are in a figure-8 style and I know Petsmart carries harnesses that are figure-8 style in bigger sizes than the Li'l Pals so I would look there. My parent's yorkie has one in red. Here is a link to a figure-8 harness. It is showing a large on on a lab but they make them just a little bigger than the Li'l Pals size you are using now http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2032961&Ne=2 |

Easy walk harness is a brand that i have used and still do actually. It is easy to fit and does not put any strain at all on my furbaby. I bought mine off of premierpetdirect.com |
Thanks everyone for all the advice. I decided to go with Chattiesmom silk harnesses. I ordered two 1 in irridecent light pink and the other in teal! Can't wait to get them :) |
sallen15, I think you will be pleased. Since they are silk, they are less likely to cause matting. |
I just noticed this am that Zoe is having some breakage of her hair and I'm thinking it's because of her harness. She does not wear it all the time but I'm assuming it is still damaging her coat. Do the silk harnesses cause less breakage or does any one have a recommendation? :( |
Just ordered the silk from ChattiesMom  They're great! Beautiful, washable, and easy on the hair! |

Now, my Dunks uses this harness called SPORN. It stops for the dugs to pull YOU while you walk them... It's been very helpful since it has a color which you can leave on, you just have to take off the part that goes under his leg that attaches to the leash... it looks complicated, but its really not... Here's their website: http://www.sporn.com/ Hope this helps! |
PetSmart has another brand of step in harnesses - something like comfort fit. I agree with a previous poster, Chattiesmom makes great step in harnesses! |
I've got some cute harnesses on my site here. Some on clearance also: http://www.swankpets.com/collars-har..._65_66_89.html I wouldn't leave them on all day, but for special occasions, they would work well. |
