Bitter Apple Anyone? We finally got some Bitter Apple spray at the petstore the other day, and can I just say... **PHEW** Thank goodness! He had been chewing up the baseboard in our dining room. And on the bottom part of the couch he was ripping the fabric off. And now.... nothing! I am so glad, I hate feeling like I am having to tell him to stop over and over. And trying to get his attention to do something else only worked for a few minutes. |
Oh Bitter Apple is great I have been using it now for 2 weeks and he has stop bitting on us Thank God!! He is no fool however he know what the bottle looks like and when he see's me with it he runs away and make sure he doesn't go back to chew on whatever it was he was chewing on before. YAYYY for bitter apple :D  |

If you get in a pinch and run out of Bitter Apple, then use concentrated lemon juice. It works great too. Also, cheap spray deordant is very good. |
My min pin had broken his arm and he kept eating his cast off(which was so bad b/c his arm wouldnt heal right). Well we bought bitter apple and I swear he loved the stuff! He woukd lick it right off. That dog is just plain crazy though! |
Coco hates bitter apple when i do a tiny squirt in her mouth. She will lick it right off if it's on my hands and feet (her favorite chew toys) but when I spray a drop in her mouth she gets the message. She also recognizes the bottle. So when she bites REALLY hard, I first give her a warning by showing her the bottle. Most of the time she will start licking as if to say, "who? me? I wasn't the one biting." If the warning isn't taken seriously I gently press on the spray thing and a drop gets on her tongue. I feel bad but she bites REALLY hard. I almost cried yesterday because she bit my nose so hard (just had surgery 4 months ago). |
