MinkSheen Vs. Chris Christensen..Comparitive Review 1 Attachment(s) I got my free sample of MinkSheen in the mail. I heard so many good things about it, but I have to admit that I'm a major Chris Christensen products fan. I'm willing to give anything a try that will save me time (MinkSheen=1 step, CCproducts=5 steps) so here's a head to head (or tail?) comparison! First here are pics of the little ones before their bath. First is Scout, the calmer of the two and more inclined to let pics be taken, so forgive me if there's more of him. He is bigger and has more of a cottony coat that is turning colors now...I think he will be more silver in a year. |
Next, Pippa before 1 Attachment(s) Here is Pippa before....she is the older of the two but smaller. She has a very dark coat and is more silky. However, she whizzes around at warp speed most of the time and is hard to catch on film..LOL |
Scout After Minksheen 1 Attachment(s) The MinkSheen smells a little "citronella" or maybe "old man cologne"....can't quite make up my mind on that. Anyway, the bottle says it will help keep fleas away, so who cares if they smell funny. I should mention that we use Revolution and my babies have never had fleas. I don't think they would even know what to do....so unfortunately I don't know if this stuff really repels fleas. First of all, I'm pumped that I only had to wet, lather, and rinse!! CC products that I use is the Day to Day Shampoo, then the Conditioner, then the Foaming protein(once a month), then After Bath...but the look gorgeous and smell like a banana split after CC systems...but I digress. Here is Scout after MinkSheen...and air drying. Oh, and that blur in the picture is Pippa whizzing by. |
MinkSheen Review 2 Attachment(s) So far, they are nice and soft, although it seems to have made Scout a little "Fluffy". Maybe could have been prevented with the hair dryer, but here is a pic of Mr. Fluffy Butt. Looks like he's saying, "kiss this" with his tongue out..hehe And a rare shot of Pippa (although wet) sitting in the sun. |
Both After 1 Attachment(s) Ok, so here is my head to head comparison: MinkSheen Pro's: 1 step, coat is nice and soft without using conditioner, My silkier coated baby looked nice and smooth, dogs enjoyed not spending so much time in the sink. Cons: smells kinda funny, results didn't last as long as CC systems, more fluffy buttage for cottony coated dog, Can't use on face (I used johnsons baby shampoo for their face). CC Systems Pro's: Smells like a banana split (if you use After Bath), results last longer (they look cleaner, longer), smoother coat, especially for my cottony baby, does not seem to hurt their eyes and the bottle does not say you can't use it on their face. Cons: Too many steps! Bottom line: I think I would end up saving money using MinkSheen as my weekly bath and doing CC systems once a month or for special occasions. |
wow, both your doggies look great! I like the Mink sheen also ... However, I recently bought the CC "starter kit" .... still have to try it. Thanks for your review ... |
I've used both and like the Minksheen better. For cotton hair, adding a bit of conditioner helps the fluffies - either a leave in or rinse out one. I LOVE the smell of Minksheen! :D |
Pippa and Scout are both beautiful.... I love fuzz butts :) I also love MinkSheen. In fact I love it so much I just bought another TWO gallons -- taking advantage of the current sale. I love the smell of MinkSheen too.... It just smells FRESH to me. |
I like Minksheen alot better than CC. The smell grows on you |
 Milksheen fan here to, I bathed all 4 of mine with just the small sample bottle they sent me:) just ordered the big bottle last week, i love the smell:) it does make the cotton coats a bit fluffy though. |
I always used pantene. I got my sample of minksheen but haven't bathed my Yorkie in it yet. I'm anxious to see how it does with Otis because he is cottony. I did wash my shih poo with it and WOW was he soft!!!!! I like the fact that its a flea and skeeter repellent because Otis is liver compromised and frontline, etc seem to give him symptoms. Thumbs up for minksheen! |

They have a sale?? I'm going to check that out! I wonder if doggie shampoo is kind of like human shampoo where you have to change it up a little to get better results? |

1 Attachment(s) LOVE the Minksheen for my yorkie boy but it does not work as well on my maltese unless I use conditioner. She is cottony and so it makes her poofy but I don't mind the smell, it doesn't smell like a banana split but it does smell clean and fresh!!!! And thanks for your frank review of the products!! |
