Ebay Scam.... Hi Guys. The other day I posted about a Coach "Replica" Carrier that I got Tia. I have never seen any that looked as much like the real deal as the one I got (Picture below). Well, it's hit Ebay. This morning, I got up and was snooping around ebay and sure enough there is someone selling what appears to be the same replica ONLY HE IS SELLING IT AS AUTHENTIC. He is pricing it at $600 or best offer. I've inserted the link below so that no one gets taken. Attatched below is the picure of the replica I got. The replicas look for much like the real deal however, the faux items always have protective plastic wrap on the handles where as the real items do not. Just didn't want anyone to be taken. Oops forgot to attach picture 1 Attachment(s) Ooops forgot to attatch the picture of the carrier I got Tia - This way you can see that it's the same carrier the person on Ebay is trying to pass as the real Coach. Elaine |
Just curious, did you contact the seller to let them know you were on to them? |
I reported them to Ebay. Hi. No not the seller. I did report them to Ebay. It's one thing to sell a replica as a replica but it's another to try and scam someone into paying for something they believe is authentic. I think this is the same person I contacted via seller.com. They had an authentic Coach Carrier listed with best offer but no picture. I emailed and asked them if it was authentic and they said yes. The same location Brooklyn and the same or very similiar user ID. I felt uneasy and then ended up just buying a faux since I was unable to find a real one at a fair price. Elaine. |
Just playing devil's advocate. It might also be that the seller does not know that it is not an original. I got taken once on Ebay. I bought a used Saxophone, listed as being without imperfections. After a few weeks, I decided I did not want it and listed it on Ebay. I sold it and the buyer accused me of scamming, citing all these things that were wrong with it. Of course, by that time the seller I bought it from was no where to be found. I was out $500 and still have a Saxophone that is worth essentially nothing. Lesson learned: Both buyer and seller should beware! Ask lots of questions. In the case of the carrier, if you are certain it is not the real deal, I would use the question feature and make a comment there, so buyers will beware. |
how can you tell it's fake? I do love your bag though, it's gorgeous!!!! so your bag is the real deal then?? Curious, how much did you have to pay? I was looking, and here is another coach bag on ebay that looks just like the one you have. http://cgi.ebay.com/COACH-Signature-...QQcmdZViewItem |
Hi. NO MINE IS NOT REAL. Mine is a faux. I think it's the same faux that this guy is trying to claim as real. Notice that he does not show the inside of the carrier. The inside if it's the same as mine should be the same color as the outside of the carrier where the real Coach is pink. Also, the one on ebay has protective wrapping around the handles. This is a big clue that it's fake too because the real Coach or Louie Vuittons do not come with protective plastic on the handles. I am 99.9 percent sure that the one I posted about is fake. I know it's hard to tell because there are some really good copies out there but there are little clues you have to look for such as the plastic wrap etc. The listing you posted is a real Coach carrier. I had looked at that one too but did not want to spend $675 especially when originally the carrier only sold for like $425. My faux sells for $225 shipped. Actually it comes to I think $210 shipped because I added wrong.:p |
1 Attachment(s) This is the bag I have, it kinda looks like the same fabric design like you have. I know mine is not real, but I do like it. |
Yeah, but Gracie. I'm 100 percent sure that this is the person I emailed with through a posting left on sellers.com and he wasn't very nice in his response. I only posted so no one gets taken in paying $600 for a bag that's not authentic. In so far as contacting Ebay. All they will do is have him pull the auction. I felt it best to do it this way then to get personally involved. Again, only posted it here as I know the Coach carrier is popular and didn't want to see one of our members get taken. Elaine |
I just can't imagine people paying $675 for a carrier!!!! That is just insane, I don't care what design it is LOL |
That's a cute bag. That's a cute bag. I had that one too and liked it but had always wanted the Coach Carrier and missed out as they were sold out everywhere. When I spotted the carrier I just got I was really excited and grabbed one. I'm hoping it's as nice as the pictured showed. I do have a really adorable faux Gucci that I use on Tia and I love that one too. Got that one off Ebay rather cheap - I think I paid $50 or so plus shipping and it's really made great. Elaine |
Yeah $675 is INSANE Yeah $675 is INSANE especially since it was originally only selling through Coach for $425. I was too cheap and waited then when I decided to bite the bullet they were all sold out. LOL. But even $425 is a bit higher then I really wanted to spend. Elaine |
