I got JIPPED!!!!! I bought my stroller last week from a ma pap store in my local town, I paid $200 for it. I just get a phone call from my hubby telling me we got ripped off. That stinks!:( Good idea regarding the ad. If you can take it to the store where you purchased yours and show them they marked up the stroller 100% maybe they will match it and give you a refund. If not, don't shop there again and just enjoy your stroller. |
That bites. The thing with mom and pop shops is that they don't buy as much stock and will sell for a higher price because they have to make money to maintian a staff and a stores overhead. Sad to say that you need to go outside of that to get a good price even though you want to help keep the mom and pop shops in business. The problem is also that some of these local stores are trying to be shi shi boutiques and capitalize on the fact that we dote on our pets. Sucks but you are probably stuck with the item since you used it. I so doubt that they will price match being a smaller operation. |
This is not a pet store. It's a small grooming boutique. I understand them having to mark up the price, but $100 difference is a lot!! |

Im going to guess that you got a kittywalk stroller since it looks similar to the one in that link. Kittywalk strollers are considered designer, very nicely made and thier prices reflect this. The stroller you see in the catalog is a knock off of a kittywalk stroller which is why it is cheaper but it is not going to be the same quality, etc. I dont know if that helps make you feel any better :) . BUt this is what is happening, all the wholesale type catalogs like JB wholesale, Petedge, Dr Foster and Smith are selling cheaper made knock off's of other people's original designs/products. They are having thier items made cheaper overseas thus they sell it for cheaper. So you arent being ripped off by the mom and pops boutique because trust me they paid a alot more for that stroller and cant sell it for anyless than $200 if it is indeed a kittywalk stroller(which I am just guessing that it is), the wholesale catalogs are ripping off other peoples designs. |
If it isn't the real thing or if you don't care whether it is or not it is the "real" deal or not....I would clean it up alittle and take it back. Nothing dishonest about that. I agree, most stores do have a 30 day return policy, no matter what the reason is....or they may only offer store credit. Good luck w/ your situation! |

Kittywalks are nice strollers and yes the stroller from Foster and smith is cute too, Im not saying its bad to buy it by any means. Im just explaining why one store may charge a certain price and why others may have a cheaper but very similar version. I've noticed that a lot of these boutique places buy things and jack the price up 50% or more! When I bought Baby's doggy house, I got it on eBay for $39.95! Online some places had the same thing for over $200. :rolleyes: Sorry you feel you got ripped. :( |

They are on ebay for $50 all day long. I got mine for that & love it. You gotta shop around girl. Just look at it this way..you supported a local business:) & that is a good thing. |
