Anyone have the snoozer console car seat?

Reese is about 6lbs and I am not sure if it would be too small for her. I have to order a carseat off line because no stores carry them by me, so any help would be greatly appreciated

I have one and my smaller 4 to 5 pounds dogs that are fairly short fit, but it is very small. They don't have lots of extra room to lay down in. If your dog is long at all I would probably get the oversized one (providing it fits on your console). My two smallest ones love it. They lay down and hang their head over the edge. I haven't really tried my bigger two (5 to 6 pounds but larger build) in it. I don't think they would be as comfortable.

I have two of the Snoozer's. The Lookout 1 I have for the back seat. Jilly :aimeeyork is 4lbs. and that is her throne. She fits quite nicely with plenty of room to spare if Jack:aimeeyork or Kenzi :aimeeyork jump in. I also have the Car Console Lookout. This one is very small and Kenzi who is 3# 10 oz. fits snugley in it. I don't use it on the console though because we have a pick-up truck and it doesn't fit one it. I have managed to rig it in between the console and back seat. They work great.

In my opinion Reese :aimeeyork at 6lbs. would be way to big to fit the car console. If you look at the Snoozer website they advertise the car console for "teacup size dogs". Hope this helps you.

I have 5 different Lookout Seats and the gang loves them. The car console really only fits my 3# girl or for the #4 little guy sitting up. I got all my Lookout Seats off of ebay. I think they are worth every penny spent on them.:)

I love the Snoozer car seats!! Howie and I travel just about every week and I have the Lookout II car seat. I can turn the airbag off on my passenger side seat, so I have it there. He's so cute... we get into the car and he hops right in! One time I forgot to hook him into the seat and didn't realize until we got home and he sat there like a good little boy the entire time! 6 lbs is prob a little too big for the console though.

lauraopi 04-07-2007 07:01 AM

The regular snoozer lookout..can you put it in the both front and back seat? and the dog can see out the window? I just want something that will work if I have someone in the car with me also, which is why i originally thought the console one would be good. Up until now Reese has sat on my lap, but I realize this is unsafe for her if we get into an accident.

LuvMySissy 04-07-2007 09:05 AM

If you have a larger vehicle (like a truck or van) the larger console would work for you. My girls are both 4lbs and love our snoozer console (only one at a time can use it). I have yet to find anything else they like!!!

judyeve 04-07-2007 12:56 PM

Max went into his when he was about 6 pounds, but he never wanted to lay down. I think he wanted to drive actually!

Yes. You secure it with the seat belt. If Reese rides in the front you want to be able to turn off the passenger side air bag though. It definately sits high enough for her to be able to see out the window whether used in the front or back. We've had Jilly :aimeeyork in the car seat ever since we've had her so she is uncomfortable riding anywhere else but her snoozer. Jack:aimeeyork on the other had, prefers my lap. (Naughty mom!) Well, and Kenzi, :aimeeyork she would rather ride on hubby's shoulder!

I have the console lookout, and Chloe is almost 5 lbs now. She is getting too big for it, so I think it would be too small for a 6 pounder. Its a shame too because I like having her on the console. I'm afraid it will be a major pain to put her in a regular seat--moving the dog seat in and out for other passengers.

Reese1 04-07-2007 05:58 PM

Do you think the SUV car console is too small for a 4-5 lb dog or just the regular car one?

judyeve 04-08-2007 09:00 AM

Max Won The Carseat Battle!!!

I'm envious! Your babies actually use their seats. Max honestly thinks it's his car and why am I driving it instead of him?

I got the Lookout. He spent the entire time hanging by the harness because he was forever trying to get out of it. I don't know how I drove because I spent the entire time putting him back in.

We traded the Lookout for the console which he hung out of so that his head and whatever part of his body he could get out, could touch me.

I put that away and got the Outward Hound hanging seat. He managed to sit so that the bottom folded up and he would get stuck in it. He also spent as much time as possible hanging from it in an effort to get out.

I gave up on that and got the seatbelt harness which does nothing. He's so small he just slides around when the car moves.

He now sits on my lap. He's not allowed off, he's allowed to stand up and look of the driver's side window and that's it. He clearly won the carseat battle!

Yikes, that's what I'm afraid of! Wrigley has only been used to traveling in her crate, I'm hoping she will be happy with a booster car seat. Sounds like you spent a small fortune looking for something that works!

scrappymomma 04-08-2007 09:37 PM

I have the lrg. SUV console seat and Gracie is 9pds and fits in it just fine. I just bought a new car and it doesnt have a console anymore so I am looking for a regular carseat instead.

If Wrigley is used to confined in her crate, she should love the Lookout. I spent about $70 on all of this stuff. I'm going to be looking for a little girl after the summer, so maybe I'll get to use some of this stuff.

Thanks, I certainly hope she will enjoy it! Good luck with your future little girl!!

Reese sits nicely on my lap too, but my fear is getting in an accident and the airbag killing her (God forbid!) which is why I was thinking of the car seat..2 questions..where do you find one for the best price because they are expensive and 2..how the heck do you turn an airbag off??? I have no clue!!

I bought the SUV console lookout (Snoozer) for Mojo. I LOVE IT! The only problem with it that we found, is that in my Yukon, there is no space to attach the support straps under our seats....but, they are long enough, that they will go around the "legs" of the back seat....we have a fold out table in the middle of the back seat, so it works out good. AND if I need to have someone sit in the middle, the straps easily unbuckle (leaving the straps under the seat, but removing the console car seat). So, even with that, we love this seat. Mojo is just barely over 5lbs, and this car seat may seem big, but it really isn't...we put his little blanket in there and a toy and the harness clip can be adjusted so they can lay comfortably, etc. So, if you have an SUV definitely get that size. We thought about the smallest one they had, but didn't know about it, since we drive a big SUV and Mojo is 1lb over the limit for the smallest one (it is up to 4lbs I believe). Also, I wanted to get the gray suede material (can't remember what it is called) because it would have matched the leather in my SUV, but we got the quilted material instead for easier cleanup, if needed.

I wanted to get the SUV console, but our Honda CRV isn't wide enough. So I'm going to get the smaller one. The smaller one says 4-5lbs. Wrigley weighs 4.11 and is 9 1/2 lbs.

Hmmmm....I could have sworn when we were looking, the smallest one was for up to 4lbs....but we are happy w/ the size we got...I think we would have been disappointed if we had gotten the smaller one (for us). Course, our Yukon is definitely wider then the CRV, so you are right with getting the smaller one.

Here are some pictures of Mojo in his console seat....if wanted, I can run out to the truck on take pictures of what it looks like strapped in.

Jaxon has the snoozer for teacups & it says 4 to 8lbs. He loves it & snuggles right down with his head hanging over. It fits perfectly in my Expedition & we absolutely love it. We put his doggie & blankie in with him & he settles right down! I'll have to get some photos also.

I would so rather have that, it looks like the perfect size! The CRV is a max of 10 1/2 wide and you need to have 12 for the SUV one. Most of the sites I've been on say 4lbs, but I saw a brochure and it said 5 lbs. Wrigley is long and skinny and we are thinking for short car rides it will be fine. We are also going to get the regular lookout for longer car trips, like the YorkieFair in Michigan!

Tiger's Mom 04-13-2007 02:53 PM

I love the console lookout . .both my furkids went through it. Annika is still using it but very snug. As much as I want to get the bigger one, my SUV will not accomodate it :(

I have the lookout carseat for the back and although it is nice, it sure isn't the same as the console as my furbaby is just too far for me :(

Both of mine adapted so well with the console. They think it is comfy as they snuggle the minute I drive out of my driveway

I do have the one that fits up to 4 lbs. Annika is now 4 1/2" but she can still lay in there - snug though

Mojo is so cute - always the perfect model :)

I'm relieved to hear that she fits in the smaller one, I figure they will have the best of both worlds with the console and the larger one for the back.
