Puppy Pads?? Hi all I use puppy pads with Coco, and most of the time she goes on them, but sometimes she just picks her own spots to pee. Has anyone used those sprays from the petstore that are supposed to entise the puppy to pee where you want them to? It's this spray that you can spray on your puppy pad, or anywhere and it supposedly attracts them to that particular spot of the spray. I know pads already have something in there to attract them, but I was thinking of making it stronger to detect. Any advice? |

I have used the spray and it doesnt work and it smells HORRIBLE, you DO NOT want to spray it anywhere near your house. We even sprayed it outside and could smell it for days. Maybe it was just the spray we got but it smells like "pee" and they didnt even go where we sprayed it. Maybe someone else has had better luck :) |
I did use a spray but it didn't have a smell to us..and it did help a little...he would pee on the pad more often and now he is almost 100%...but like I said the one we tried didn't smell at all but supposedly had a phermone only a dog could smell...think it was from simple solutions...they have it on petsmart.com |

i had that same spray! EWWWW it reeeked! we sprayed it on the small wee-pad in my small room.. and it stunk up the entire room! but it did work.. but that smell was horrible. |
I have a funny story about that disgusting spray.......one day I went over to my daughter's house, and on my way over I spillled some coffee on my shoe (while driving). I told my daughter what happened, and she said, go get that spray under the sink, it's really good at getting stains off! So, I went and grabbed the wrong spray...boy what a mistake that was! We were both laughing so hard when we realized what I did. lollololol...hehehehehe...I don't remember what I did to get rid of that smell on my shoe, but I know I had to go to work, so I must have put something else on it to get rid of that funk! Too funny! :D |
With our girls, we tried the spray and seem to get little response, so we went back and got some drops and they seem to just take to them...now we rarely have an accident and have gotten to the point where we hardly use them!! I think if you can find something that works for you, it will defintely help out... |
Thanks everyone. i think she is responding since she's going on it often. Maybe the accidents are happening because of her age. I have to try to remember she's just a baby, and the fact that she's 90%trained is a blessing. I just hope she learns more soon. |
1 Attachment(s) I use this stuff from petco Simple Sloution potty training Aid , it doesnt smell and it works quite well, I have not tried it outside but I do spray it on his wee wee pad and I 'd consider him 98% pad trained minus the few accidents beside the pad. Hope this helps :) |
Thats the stuff I was talking about...no scent and worked pretty good...I don't even have to use it anymore |

I used the Simple Solution spray... My dog tries to EAT whatever I spray it on... inside and out. So, yeah. I vote no. |
