Carrier that is Airline approved (but still cute)
 
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a carrier that is airline aprroved for my yorkie. We will be flying internationally in June and I want him to be comfortable on such a long flight.
I also want it to be cute. :p

I highly recommend the Petflys carriers. In fact, how about this one? http://petflys.com/buckaroo.html I know it is toward the pinkish side but it is called the Buckaroo! I bought it new from a fellow YT-er, never have used it. I am getting a larger one so my two can both fit. This is the nicest carrier I have ever seen. It comes with two handles -- one shoulder and one shorter one; a luggage tag, a place for your dog's photo, and a cute matching leopard print blanket. It is airline approved and very secure. Let me know if you are interested. It is absolutely like new at half the price!

I suggest the paris houndstooth sherpa bag. They are airling approved and really cute - my little oscar loves it b/c it hold is shape. He even sleeps in it when we're home.

I love the Petflys carriers. I am going to getthe purple one with the birds on it. That one iis really cute too just probably too small for me I need the larger one

Royce has this one from Trixie and Peanut in NY. Its airline approved and has a little window on one side that you can open and it opens also from the top and it has a door like on the other side .

Celltei makes a nice bag - I just got one for Abigail, and she doesn't seem to mind it at all.

We got this one, 'cause I wanted one that hubby would not be embarrassed to carry; but, I wouldn't say it's "cute" :).

I have the monkey one from petflys i love it. Although the leather strap that you can use to hold the door open has been almost chewed off so i put it outside the zipper.

Nice! They have so many great choices but I think I've settled on this one Looks like it'll work for airplane travel as well as be a great car bag as it can be strapped to the seat.

I don't want him to end up with a bag collection. :eek:

I was in Petco the other day and asked the manager which carrier he suggested for air travel. He suggested the classic Sherpa. Comfortable, light and all the airlines recognize and accept it. Personally, I'd rather have a Celltei or Petflys:) ... I wonder which would be most comfortable for the pup?

I notice the height is 11 inches. Most airline regulations says it must be nine inches. I used a taller one when i went to LA but the top corners were soft and I mashed it down. i bought another one that was soft BUT the four top corners couldn't be mashed down even tho the rest of the top is soft. make sure you can mash it down. i found some really cute ones on E-Bay for next time I fly.

Base*: 14" (L) x 8.5"(W) x 7"(H)
(* for in-cabin airline travel reference)

Apparently, the top structures are flexible so it mushes down as far down as the base measurements for going under the seat.

See --this is my problem---I don't want to buy the wrong carrier. I don't mind spending the cash--I just want to be sure it multi-tasks for me.

ie: planes, car and toting. Oy.

Have you all checked out my carriers? They are airline approved and can be a carseat!!! Ask Jessie-she bought one for her 2 dogs and loves it!!!

Her babies are 11 lbs and 5 lbs and fit perfect with extra room for their toys. It holds up to 15lbs. If interested email me
