Coat Handler Users have a few questions A friend got the starter kit and mixed me some. I have been using chris christensen for years and love it. Wanted to try this since so many of you love it. Do you all use the four products together. The directions say to use the 15-1 Clarifying shampoo, then add the odor handler, rinse out then bath with 5-1 maintenance shampoo, rinse then 15-1 leave in conditioner. The kit also came with skin works, she didn't know what it was for. Any info would be appreciated. |

The clarifying shampoo you would use just the first time to get rid of any residue from other products, then maybe use every month or two. I don't think you need to use the odor handler unless you're having an odor problem. I'm saving mine for when our Golden plays with the skunks again! I don't think you have to use the maintenance shampoo if you have used the clarifying - just skip to the conditioner. The skin works, I believe, is if you are having skin problems like hot spots or whatever - or maybe cracks on the paw pads. hope this helps! |
Omega, thanks for the info, next time I bath them I am going to use it like you said. Thanks again. |

I have used Coat Handlers ever since I brought Toto home at 16 weeks. It's what Ava uses on her showdogs and she gave it along with the other puppy stuff. I only use the Clarifying Shampoo and the Conditioner. I use diluted conditioner to spritz her hair when brushing it ... helps with tangles and any damage. The Clarifying Shampoo doesn't burn her eyes and I have never had any skin problems with this. The only time she has ever scratched is after going to groomers and I simply bathe her in her Coat Handlers the day after her grooming. |

We use Coat Handlers also and love it :) We only use the shampoo and conditioner, not the odor handler. We have tried Pure Paws (okay) and Bless the Beasts (made them poofy) and Coat Handlers is by far the best! |
1 Attachment(s) I use Coat Handler shampoo and conditioner too but I dont dilute it. I tried but I dont think it works as well. I like it because it makes them nice and shiny. |
Thanks, TatumsMom!! Toto is one weird Yorkie .... she hates to be stinky!! :p She is way happier when she is clean and shiney!! CO_yorkie_momma ... we don't dilute it either. I just put a little in my palm and rub my hands together and then begin rubbing it on her hair ... much like we do our own. I use the conditioner the same way! I also don't "thoroughly rinse it out since it can be used like a leave-in. We can't stand for Toto to smell "doggy"!! ;) |
I just used it again yesterday for my cottony Tinka and I really do like the results. I do dilute the shampoo but this time I tried using the conditioner straight out of the bottle and it worked great. After cutting her hair, I finished up with Sea Breeze oil and she looks great! (at least for a day or so. :D ) |
