Anyone here use PISH PADS or REUSABLE BED PADS? I'm looking into buying reusable pads for my babies and wanted to know the pros & cons of using reusable pads. Also, what do you use to wash them? Do they need to be washed everyday? Do they smell like urine? Which is better..PISH PADS or REUSABLE BED PADS? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
We use the ones from www.piddlepads.com and have been very pleased! We purchased a dozen about 15 months ago and they have been a wonderful investment!! (We purchased the plaid print and they look a little nicer.) We use the Oxy Solution for pets along with Tide everytime we wash them to help clear out the urine smells. We normally do not dry them....we let them air dry outside in the sun...which I think also helps "refresh" them. They are a backup option for our girls....as when we are home they use the doggie door to go outside to their little potty area....so ours do not get lots of daily use. |
me. me!!!!!!!! i ordered some pish pads to use in my whelping box for kandy. I used three yesterday when she was whelping. Those things are incredible. They also are very expensive. They are twenty-five dollars each for the 24x24 pads. All that stuff just washes right out and you can put them in the dryer. I don 't know about using them for the potty tho. I have looked at the reusable pee pads but i think my dogs would be confused and think it was a blanket to play with. It would save money tho. I use the disposal pee pee pads from Walmart. |
I use both and prefer the pishpads...you will get a longer use if you let them air dry over putting them in the dryer. Also if you buy the roll instead of cut pieces its much cheaper! |
thanks for the info..maybe I'll buy one pad and try it |
I use the reusable/washable pads. But I didn't get pish or piddle pads. I have 6 dogs that use the pad so I need alot of pads and $25 for one pad is too expensive for me. Another member here referred me to another site where I got my pads and I am so glad they referred the site to me!! The site is www.valethics.com The pads arn't expensive and I love them. I ordered 18 of them. When I used the disposable ones, I would be using atleast 12 disposable pads a day. But since I got the reusable ones, I only use 6 pads a day because they absorb twice the amount of moisture and the ones I got are even smaller than the disposable ones, I ordered the xsmall ones. The pads are great. I wash them every other day and they come out looking like brand new every time which is just amazing because if you saw how much my boys pee, you would think there would huge stains on it, but there is absolutely no staining. All I use is a little detergent, no softener or anything else and they still come out looking brand new. Oh and they don't smell. Some people say they have different reusable pads that still smell like pee even after they are washed, but these ones don't. The pads have saved me alot of money. I was spending $60 a month for disposable pads. The pads have paid for themselves and I have an extra $60 a month now. I will be ordering more as soon as I come up with the money. I highly recommend them!!!  |
I use the resuable pads...they are bigger and even after they are washed they still hold their scent...and....the puppy tears up the paper ones! |

Thanks for the site!! I'm going to get a few xsm ones and try them out!! |
Oooh, my thanks for the site too. I was worried about going to the poor farm buying all those reusable and disposable pads. I just got my baby and I've already spent $$$ and she doesn't even have any clothes yet! |
bed pads Here is a link where I got my reclaimed bed pads. These are what they use in nursing home. They are great. I worked in nursing home for 16 years. And these look as good as the new ones did. Just wash like you would your whites. They have a water proof backing. They are 27" X 32". and are only $4.45 each. shipping is pretty cheap to. |
Do they make a re-usable pee pad???? Where can I buy these? I like that the regualr pee pads have the "scent" that they are attracted to , to pee on. Will reusable ones still have the "scent" so they will know to pee on them? I'm very interested in buying some. But where??? |
Mytrixie123 posted the link further back in the thread. It's www.valethics.com. They look pretty decent for the price, but no, there's is no scent on them. You could put some there though with the the Potty Trainer spray, I think it's made by Simple Solution. |
Hint Hint.... I should have Tinkle Pads on my site.... A reusable pad that will stand up to over 300+ washingsa nd has an amazing soaker layer in the center and a wonderful back layer that will leep any and every bit of liquid where its supposed to be!!! And the pricing will be amazing! NOTHING like Pish or Pooch Pads!!!! Just an FYI.. Keey your eye out... I open in a couple of weeks, It's worth the wait! |
Ohhh I need those too !!! BAD! Like a few! Its like that Mervin's commercial "OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!" :D Seriously , I am really looking for some! Quote:
