How to de-stink my puppy?? I have a 4 month old yorkie that doesn't go outside yet because she's not finished with her vaccinations but every time someone comes over they tell us that she smells! I bathe her once a week with Earthbath puppy shampoo and wipe her down during the week with puppy wipes. Any advice would help!! |
My dog smells too so I want to see the responses you get. |
Yep puppies do tend to smell...have had two Yorkie pups and they both had an odour on them that gradually disappeared as they got older...I to had to bath them every week but as they got bigger needed to do it less and less...maybe it's something to do with their hormones..both of mine were un neutered males. |
umm I never had this problem... have you tried changing the shampoos? I use pantene pro-v on my girls... its way better then any dog shampoo I have ever used and LOTS of people use it on there show dogs.. It works really good on my girls:thumbup: |
Pantene Pro V test their products on animals...wouldn't dream of using such a product. http://www.uncaged.co.uk/pgproducts.htm http://www.uncaged.co.uk/pgtesting.htm |
I would not use any human shampoo one a regular basis on my dogs. Their ph is different from ours. Show people do use it on occassion, but not on a regular basis. You could try changing to another dog shampoo and there is also a product made by Plush Puppy called Odour Muncher. It's great to get rid of unpleasant odours.. LOL You could try using it in between baths.. You can buy it from this website. http://www.ponderosaproducts.com/ |
Try using Johnson's and Johnson's baby shampoo. I used on Buddy as a pup, however he never had an oder. It is also no-tears shampoo. They also have, in petsmart, a spray to freshen the coat. I have used the baby powder one and it does smell wonderful. |
I bath mine with Chris Christensen shampoo and conditioner and they dont stink if I bathe them once a week. I also have cologne that I put on them that smells like baby powder. I got the cologne at Petco |
