chew toys
 
my oscar hates every toy that i buy for him to chew... but loves to chew everything that hes not suppose too.any help with chew toys? hes almost 10 weeks and loves to chew fingers, paper, my clothes, and basically everything thats not intended for chewing.help!

You can get them at most places that sell Merrick food. I get mine from PetSupermarket. You can do a store search on the Merrick website. PetSmart and Pet Co don't sell Merrick. Good luck!:)

Stay away from rawhide its not good for puppies tummy;) Did you try rope bones? you dont have to worry about them shredding and they're a great chew toy plus they last a pretty long time.

long lasting chews
 
Flossies, Texas Toothpicks, Beef Tendons, all great.

My guys like "Tuff Stuff" dental bones. They are non-edible, flavored, and come in a 2-pack. Nylabone makes them.

They are extreme chewers and I have bought x-tra tough toys, rubber tires, firehose material, etc.

I rub a bit of p-nut butter on the non-edible bones. Lasts a little longer.
Nylabone durables are good, too. They come in different shapes and sizes.

Hope you are able to "web shop". They're are some great deals on the internet.

Look around. It's so much fun finding new chews, and toys, and beds, and clothes, (and everything!) for them.

Try bullysticks or nylabone gumabones, those are my girls favorites.

which nylabones are the tough ones? I have tried them and had to take them away because they were getting pieces off of it.
and what are rope bones? are you talking about the tied strings? mine have shreaded those too.

i think alot of the reason oscar wont chew the ones he has is because it wont fight back! lol he loves to play and chew on humans because they fight with him.... hopefully he will like some of the things yall suggested

I get the Nylabone durables. They are the white ones. Gracie is the most destuctive chewer I have ever seen and she has never chewed a peice off. All three of mine love them. I save the flossies for special treats because they fight over them.:rolleyes: They like them a little too much!

Rope bone are the ones that are tied together really tight and they have string on the side my pup has had the same one since I got her.

thanks .......I will get the white one and try that. i have bought several toys this last week and had to take them away because they destroyed them in less than a day. even one that I made. the gruffle balls are still the most durable so far. (and their favorite).

I only use the rubber type nylabone- its the one they dont actually eat but they just knaw on it and its flavored so they love it. Its called a nylabone gumabone. I actually sell the small size on my website: http://tinkerbellscloset.com/Browse_...Chicken_Flavor


You can also find them at Petsmart and usually petco has them too.

Gummabone vs. Durables
 
Just want to remind you folks that gummabone is soft, and is not for aggressive chewers. They will eat it.

Nylabone Durables, however, are ruff 'n tuff flavored plastic, and only tiny shreds can be chewed off.

The gummabone can lodge in the throat.

Aggressive chewers will also like the "tuff stuff" chew (dental) toy because of it's shape, and is also flavored.

Yeah I can't do the Gumabones because of Gracie. She is a destroyer! I got them when she was a puppy but by the time she was about 6 months I had to throw them all away. She could get big pieces off.

Edited to add- the Durables are also flavored.
