help, looking for pet gate. don't buy this one! okay, so I bought one of those soft pet gates, it secures at the top and at the bottom but is a soft material throughout. http://www.collectionsetc.com/Item76114.aspx What a pain in the a@#$ I wanted one that doesn't mount to the wall but this one doesn't have a spring or anything with pressure so it's VERY difficult to make it stick to the wall and for it to be secure. Took forever in the morning. Then I discoverd that Simba can squeeze throught the sides so that defeats the whole purpose of it. It wasn't expensive but like I said, a waste of money. So I am looking for a pet gate that doesn't need mounting and that has some kind of pressure to it so that I just need to squeeze it and release it to fit the space. Any suggestions? Thanks, Anita |
i have an awesome baby gate I got at walmart. i love it |

any pictures or links so I could see if it would be a possibility for me as well? |
ill take pics of it later this after noon and post here. its cool just the pressure holds it up and it fits well in most spots even at an angle |
opening gate or a short gate needed My Yorkie Biggie Smalls is tiny; 2lbs. 5 ozs. He also has a sister Chihuahua who is 4 lbs. I currently have 4 baby gates from walmart, which I like because they are only $10/ea and I need quite a few. I need either a shorter gate (maybe 14"-18") so we can better step over them repeatedly without taking them down all the time. Or... I saw a wood gate in the "skymall" on a flight some time ago that showed a gate that you install in the doorway, and then you can actually open a 'door' in the gate (which spans most of the doorway and has a latch of some sort on top to open/close it) without removing it from the doorway. Please let me know if you have any suck referals or suggestions. |
i just have a baby gate and that works great for me and they are about $20 at walmart snickers (my champion jumper lol) can now clear that gate no problem so now i have 2 gates :) on top of each other and have been doing that for about 6m good luck! |
AngeliFlad, I didn't mention, but the Walmart baby gate at our stores (I've seen them at multiple Walmarts in the same place) are in front of the baby/infant section, in the middle of the isle in a big box. They are fairly simple to take down/put up and like I said, $$10 isn't bad :) Good Luck. |
I'm so glad I read this. I was about to order that fabric gate, thanks for telling us. |
