looking for a good harness Google has a harness that leaves a lot to be desired. When he gets agitated, hyper or bouncy, it's hard to control him and the harness starts to loosen up. He's almost gotten out of it twice; both times, he almost backed out of it while hopping backwards. What harness do you use, and do you think it would be good for a little boy who pulls, tugs, backs up and is otherwise rambunctious? |
There are several folks at YT who make wonderful products. I have several harness vests from Tiger's Mom (go.fetch.comcast.net) and I love the way they fit securely. I highly recommend Des' products. Plus they are very cute! |
thank you! I couldn't load that web site; do you have any other contact info so I can check out the harness? |
http://go.fetch.home.comcast.net/ if it doesn't work you can go to Tiger's Mom 's profile. there is a link there. she has the best stuff |
Those are adorable! The velcro is sturdy enough that he won't be able to break free? |
The velcro holds tough enough that you can pick them up by the leash and it doesn't budge!! |

the velcro hold great. I had the same problem, so I made my own, using velcro. Here is a picture of the one I did for Ollie |
Those are awfully cute harnesses. I'm going to try the step-in version in camouflage for my little man! |
3 Attachment(s) I've purchased two from Chattiesmom. I'll try to find the link for you! She makes step-in harnesses from dupioni (sp?) silk. They are great! Here it is: Silk Harnesses |
we really like our harness from tigers mom too. the velcro is very sturdy. we also have a puppia that clips on. which is also very sturdy if you don't want to go the velcro route. http://www.ipetconnection.com/Orion_Harness_p/orh01.htm |
I agree, Des makes great ones. I also like to shop at Shana's store, www.tinkerbellscloset.com! She has great ones! :cheer: |

harness matting My wee Corky (Yorkie X) has her daddy's Yorkie coat...cottony  and when I put her in her harness...or any of her cute little outfits, she gets mats under her front legs (which I affectionately call her arms...much to my hubby's chagrin)...does anyone know of a harness that won't cause that? I usually just comb her out every time she wears anything ... is that just the norm for everyone? |
4 Attachment(s) Attachment 60707 Attachment 60708 Attachment 60713 Attachment 60714In response to your inquiry about the best type for over-active yorkies. I would suggest the step-in. They put less stress on the neck/throat area, even for the hard to handle tug-a-war games they play. I've been designing step-in for years and find these are the best for safety and practicality. Also, if you are looking for something to keep the hair from matting I would suggest smooth satin as the hair "slides" over the satin with nothing to catch the hair on. Here's some examples of what I would suggest you look for: |
