Before the arrival What products should I amke sure to have in my home before purchasing a yorkie? I want to ensure that she will be as comfortable as possible. I have not had a dog sine I was a young child, and this will be my first yorkie. I feel like a mother preparing for her first child. |
If you do a search you will find lots of posts with things you'll need to have on hand. Off the top of my head here are a few - Nutical, toys...lots of chew toys....find out what type of food your puppy has been eating, so this way you can get it ahead of time, depending how your going to confine the puppy for training - a crate, expen, gates etc., blankets, wee wee pads for housebreaking. Welcome to the site, when I got Lady I was on here constantly. This site is a huge help when getting a Yorkie and everyone is extremely helpful when you have questions. Have you found a puppy yet? |
I have not found one yet. My boyfriend just told me a couple of days ago that it would be okay to get one, after a year of trying to convince him. I'm so nervous about finding a good breeder though. I am doing some research to find out what to look out for, and how to recongnize a good breeder, and what are the most important questions to ask them. It is all a little overwhelming. I just want to find a healthy pup that was responsibly breed. DO you have any advice on this? Thanks! |
There are a lot of breeders on here, maybe you can find one thats close to you. I would suggest NOT to have a puppy shipped to you, you are better off find a breeder that you are able to drive to. There are also a lot of posts on here about finding a responsible breeders. You might want to put a post on, saying where your from and that your looking for a Yorkie puppy, you might get some responses from breeders that are on here, also some of the breeders post when they have puppies available. My best advise is to read everything you can on here and soak it up like a sponge. This website is so helpful. |
