Got Cottony hair? Get Cowboy Magic!! Cowboy Magic is the answer. My Max has a cotton coat, so I have tried many products on him. None of which gave me the results I just got with Cowboy Magic. I am soo excited to let you all know...this stuff really works! It got rid of the matted areas very easily. Cowboy magic left his coat shiny without looking or feeling greasy. It smells good. It's realitively inexpensive.(compared to some of the products I've bought) Grooming is done in no time at all, which makes it easier and more enjoyable for the both of us. Plus Max's hair stays looking like it's just been brushed...and his bangs stay back, instead of flopping over his eyes.So do not hesitate on this, I'm telling you it WORKS! www.cowboymagic.com Theres a store locator on their site, so hopefully you'll be able to get it locally instead ordering online w/shipping costs. I think if Max could...he would give this product a thumbs up! |
Thanks for the tip!!! Does it help with static electricity because my Trixie has a cotton coat with lots of static. Is it the detangler that you use? I could not find a price, how much did you pay for yours?? She does not have any mats because I brush her everday but her hair never looks like it is brushed and you said that with this that the hair will stay looking nice and brushed, that would be so great... |
It is a detangler to use after shampooing. And yes, it does help with static electricity! As far as the cost goes, the bottle i purchased(cant remeber the exact ounces) was rather large(approx size of a 1 liter water bottle) and the cost was $16 and change. But a little of the Cowboy Magic goes a long way. |
Pictures please! Would you please post a freshly groomed Max photo? I want to see this!:p Wosie has a cottony coat, and although I love Liquid Silk, there is always room to try something else!:p |
I will certainly try posting a pic. Havent done it before, wanting to learn, so this ought to drive me to get it done. Saw Wosie on your avitar - very cute!!! |

Thank you Jaspermom for offering assistance on posting pics. |
I just have to try this. I have horses and a yorkie and cockers that I keep in full coats and are always matted. I found a vet clinic in my area that sells it so next time I take a trip to Weatherford I will have to buy some. Thanks for the great tip. |
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm suspecting at this point that BOTH of my girls may end up being cottony, and I'm definitely interested in anything to help mats! I'm in a "limited shopping" area, so I was excited to see that this product was available near me (probably cuz it's for horses! :p). My nine month old is the one with difficult hair right now, and it always looks "straggly' to me. After washing with the Cowboy Magic shampoo AND the conditioner and then blow-drying, she looked GORGEOUS! Even my six year old immediately commented that she'd never looked better. Today I finally used the pricey "detangler and shiner" on her, and the jury is still out on that one. I couldn't tell that it helped the brushing process much, OR that she looked much better afterwards. But maybe I need to use more. I was scared to, after you sd. you'd overdone it! Mine was $18 something (gulp!), but the bottle was big, and I can tell it will last FOREVER. And sidebar, I also got them a new brush at the same time. I'm getting CLOSER to figuring out the grooming process, but I think I'm just going to have to break down and buy one of those expensive CC brushes, if they work as well as people say they do. I'm just tired of having to hurt my little girls getting those mats out! :( |
cowboy magic I read this thread a few days ago so I bought Cowboy Magic and love it.The bottle said for human and animal use so I gave it a try. I have naturally curly hair and it is a pain to deal with but this stuff made my hair look great. I can't wait to use it on the Yorkies! |
I bought some too after reading all this. I haven't used it on my Yorkie yet, but on my mini-Schnauzer. I have naturally curly (and sometimes frizzy) hair too - I think I will give it a try! I bought the shampoo and detangler. I just noticed that you can get the products at some good prices on e-bay. omega |
Maybe You Could Also Teach Me To Post Pictures As Well. I Am Going To Try Cowboy Magic Too I Was Just At The Store In My Area Today Wish Stinks Because It Is 40 Miles Away. So I Will Be Waiting A Little Bit Till I Get It. |
I just bought this too Hi everyone, I just bought Cowboy Magic detangler too and their shampoo. The ingredients in the Shampoo seems really herbal and smells great. Haven't used it yet but excited to. Oh and the detangler is a huge spray bottle like 32oz! I got it on sale too for like $10.79 or something at PetSmart. ( horse dept):p |
Well I tried this.. I tried this the other day on my Lucy and I used WAYYYYY tooo much!! Bummer! She is all greasy now! If anyone uses this, use just a little or better yet spray it on your hands and rub through hair or put it in a fine mister spray bottle. I don't know why I would spray more in her little hair than in mine. I sprayed like 2 sprays in my hair-( liked it) and like 5 sprays in hers!!!? And that bottle sprayer is like the size of Windex or something...What an idiot huh!? Now she is a grease ball after her bath.:D |
My detangler didn't come in a spray bottle. ??? I did try using just a bit more of it (say, two dime sized portions rubbed through hair), and it seems to work great. Might look greasy immediately after, but by the next morning doesn't look "producty" at all...just looks soft and natural. Mostly I just find that the NEXT time I go to brush, there aren't as many tangles, and the brush goes through the hair more easily. I personally cannot compare this to the other popular products that people use on their yorkies, but I'm pleased with it. |
