I've left this for last....HELP please.. My baby will be coming in May...and I have really been buying things for a while..but I haven't bought any of the grooming supplies... I just stared at the combs, brushes and trimmers...forever yesterday... Slicker brush? I dunno... Somebody help please.... Frank the wondermutt, doesn't require a lot of grooming...so I am new to this. (We wash him and we brush him every day...but its more like a rub down for him...He's never going to grow hair that you could tie up...) Bren :yorkietal You have all been sooo helpful to me! |
i like the metal comb with the medium teeth. they don't seem to break the hair and it's really good on getting the knotts out. i also buy the detangler spray. i also like the oatmeal base shampoo and conditioner. it doesn't dry the coat out. but these are the things i use, somebody else might have better advice. |
:p I have been in your position .... guess we all have! Our breeder gave us Coat Handlers Shampoo & Conditioner when we got Toto. Loved it! But, like everyone, we have tried everything out there ... always come back to the Coat Handlers! Same thing with brushes & combs! Bought everything that was recommended. I found that the very best thing for Toto's coat is a round boar bristle brush [good quality] which I buy from a beauty supply store. I spray a conditioner as I brush and it keeps the hair from breaking. I think the hair care is really "trial & error" and everyone uses what works best for them! Good luck! ;) |
The groomer i use for snickers picked ours out for us - i think it may be what they call a "slicker brush" it has a rubber handle but the bristles/brush are metal |
Like infusium leave in conditioner?? That's what I use on my human little girls for fixing their hair... OK.. And Beauty Supply... Beauty Co or Sally? I will get the metal one also... I think maybe I'm buying too much...but I'm sooo excited.. What about the clippers? I have not found a groomer recommended around this area... And the last time I used Petsmart for Frank...I dont think they bathed him....and I KNOW they did not do his nails.. GRRRRR.... My summer nanny is working as a groomer part time right now in another city. (She is in college..) but I wont have her until the END of May... Maybe that will be soon enough. I'm hoping she will either have learned to do a Yorkie, or can show me how....or something. Bren |
