Puppy Purse? 1 Attachment(s) I was looking for a masculine over-the-shoulder pet carrier and LaviniaHyacynth gave me a link to a site. I was browsing and saw this... I think it's not fair for the dog to have their legs all hanging out... What do you think? If you have one, do you like it? Does your fur baby like it? |
Personally, I think it makes the dog look like some sort of posession or accessory. Seems uncomfortable. |
Yeah, I don't think it looks very comfortable! |
Im not the biggest fan of those carrier. They just do not look comfortable for the dog, plus I think it looks silly to be swinging a dog around from a strap. Just my honest opinion. :) |
i think those are so cute and they can double as a harness as well as a carrier. at first i thought it wouldn't be too comfortable for my puppy, except sometimes when i pick up and hold my puppy, he likes to have his legs dangle when i pick him up and hold him from the underside. i guess what might seem uncomfortable for us may be comfortable for them? but my understanding is that it's not recommended for dogs more than 5 lbs. but if your purpose is to find a "masculine over-the-shoulder pet carrier", i don't think that fits the bill. the puppy purse is a very feminine style. if you're looking for something masculine, try Pet On The Go carriers by Celltei. it looks and functions like a messenger bag for your pet. it's casual looking and hands free! |
I think those things look really uncomfortable for the dog. I think they are silly looking too |
that poor dog looks miserable, I think Sophie would absolutely hate it. I would be concerned about it chafing her legs, and it doesn't look very good either. |
Ive seen those carriers everywhere and I honestly don't see the purpose in them. Your poor dog is just hanging in mid air while you're carrying them around.. it just looks uncomfortable.. |
Yorkies and most dogs are most comfortable with their feet touching something......for that reason alone I would never use one of those. |
Look's really uncomfortable  I would never put Princess in that! Not even if it was Pink!!! :p :p :p |
I agree with what others have said, it doesn't look like it would be very comfortable for the dog. Wouldn't you think his/her little legs would lose circulation? |
Don't like this one at all, the poor thing looks miserable. What type of carrier are you looking for? Patti |
I agree....that dog looks miserable and I would NEVER put my pup in one of those. Has anyone really seen someone walking around using them?? Can we all be real though for a minute.....look at the picture again....I'm sorry, but it looks completely RIDICULOUS to me!!! |
IMHO, i don't see how anyone can determine that the model dog looks miserable, from a small profile shot. besides, the puppy purse is a personal fashion/functional option to carry our furbaby, i don't think it's quite fair to judge it as "ridiculous" and "silly". like i have a few choice words about bling-bling on pets, but i recognize it as a personal choice and wouldn't offer a disparaging word especially around here because i know plenty of pet owners love to accessorize their yorkies little sparkles, whether they're real or not. |

daisy *hates* not being able to feel something under her feet, so that would not be an option for us. however, if your doggie doesn't mind and isn't uncomfortable, then go for it. i have a puchi bag for daisy that's a little too femme for my bf to tote her around in, but they have a lot of other styles to chose from such as messenger bags (http://www.puchibag.com/type_mailbagcarrier.htm) and backpacks (http://www.puchibag.com/type_backpack.htm)that can be perceived as being more masculine. http://www.puchibag.com/index.html |
Fifi and Romeo Hello, That carrier looks mean and uncomfortable... I got a really nice one at Fifi and Romeo in Los Angeles. They'll custom make them for you in any fabric you want... They're kinda expensive ($650-$1K) but are especially made for your doggie and are very functional and comfortable. I believe they have a website: www.fifiandromeo.com Good Luck! |
Hello there! Holy Smokes, I don't think that fits my budget but if you got it! :D I carry my two in a bag and they don't even like that so I'm sure that the puppy purse would definitely be a no go! |
I agree, when I saw these things I was shocked. I think it would hurt to be carried around like that. Poor babies. They are not purses, just get a leash :p |
Hey..I would like to add that is not the one I wanted them to look at...I don't like that one either. :( |

1 Attachment(s) From a different point of view. I am a short person. When I sit in a chair and my feet don't touch the floor it HURTS!!!! And it makes me feel really uncomfortable and SHORT! Now, I don't mind being short, I just want all two of my feet touching something. Hope you are able to find a "manly" carrier soon! I know it must be frustrating. If you have something in mind..... maybe you could describe it and I bet one of us sewers might be able to help you out. I have several carrier patterns, I don't make many because they are very time consuming ..... but if the price if right, lol I'll be glad to talk turkey. What about it sewers...... let's help Dan out with a carrier. This is Chattie and Chizzie's I call this pic.... just hangin' around. |
Puppy purses are like camera bags....never can find a "perfect" all purpose one. |
1 Attachment(s) Have u seen this one? My friend bought it in L.A She liked it. |
I bought one of these bags. Not the one that is shown but the one that is called "puppy purse' with mesh in the middle. I thought it was cute and then when I got it Mari would not have anything to do with it. Good luck trying to get all four legs in those holes. They can pull them out faster than you can get them all in. I got her in it one time then put it away and it was $$$ I learned a good lesson on that one. I agree that they like their feet touching something. I have a little front pack now that she likes loves. She takes a nap in it at least once a day. :aimeeyork |

I like the looks of it, and if you make and sell them, how much are they? I am somewhat interested. Thanks. |
I was curious as to what you are useing for the screening? I have made them in the past for ours and just finished one for Baby Blessing, I used the needlepoint plastic instead of screening and made it so they are inserts. I like it real well, was amazed at the various patterns that are availeable in the sewing pattern books but I made up my own style and pattern. |
