Bully Bones Does anybody else's yorkies have an obsession with bully bones like mine do? They are chewing through 2 every week or so. I don't mind getting these for them - but I'm starting to wonder now if there will be any digestion issues down the road. Has anyone heard of health issues creeping up over too many bully bones or chewies in general? I originally found out about these bones from one of their groomers who owned a pet shop and had just discovered them and was selling them. She told me they were supposed to be better than the white rawhides - is this true or just opinion? Just curious...thanks! |
Rawhides are dangerous and they can choke on them. They aren't healthy, either. I toss my bully sticks when they get down to about three inches. They can choke on anything. It's not worth taking a chance. I should add that my yorkie just chews on them for a little while at night. She gets tired of it and goes to sleep. :D |
lexi has one handy everyday... just incase the wants to gnaw,,, |
I was told to make sure to get the ones Made in the USA, like the Merrick brand ones. Many of the others have things in/on them you would not want your dog to ingest or come from an unknown source. I think the Merrick ones don't smell as bad as the others anyway. |
Just to clarify, bully bones are the same as bully sticks correct. I really need something that my Tiger can gnaw on for a few hours so he can sit still while I read in bed . . . And if Merrick does not smell as much, then perhaps I will try it. Does Petsmart carry it? I am taking my Tiger to Petsmart tonight to a puppy training class (he graduated already) just so he can socialize with other dogs so I will get some then I am just grossed out at the idea of what is going into my baby's mouth - old penis yikes! |
The Merrick ones only say "Beef Tendon" on them. You cannot buy them at Petsmart. I get them at a smaller specialty dog store. You must have one of those around you. They seem to be everywhere around here!!! |
