I still use the little blue , puppy one. Last Sat. I put a hard treat or soft treats that can be jammed in the top of it, and I'm not kidding he played with it for HOURS, like 4 until he had licked it so much it was crumbling out of it, I got so much stuff done around the house. |

My baby girl loves her kong- I have the small red one, the blue one is too easy for her now. She brings it to me for cookies. I buy the kong liver cookies that fit it. I also put cheerios in it and anything I can get it in. Some things take longer that others to get out. |
[QUOTE=Yorkiedog] When filling Kongs, you'll need to plug up the smaller hole if the filling is liquidy, so it doesn't fall out. You can also plug the larger hole to make it harder for the dog to get the filling out. Some things you can use to plug the holes: a grape or piece of another type of fruit, cheese, dog treats, peanut butter, veggies, or anything else that will fit. You can also add dog biscuits, fruit, or veggies (or whatever your dog likes) to the Kong along with one of the recipes below, to make layers or mix in. My Tiger has the 2-tone light blue Kong. I fill it up with the PB Kong product. I squirt a few onto a sheet of parchment paper and put them in the freezer. In the mornings before I leave, I mold one hardened PB (but pliable) to fit the rim of the kong. That should give him a few minutes to be busy so he won't feel so bad when I leave for work . . . . he loves it! Don't feed your dog grapes . . . it is very bad for them! |
Mignon loves her blue puppy Kong. After some wonderful advice from this site I got inventive on the stuffing. First I take some pupperoni sticks and grind them into a powder (in my Magic Bullet - yes Infomercial junkie here) - about the consistency of pepper, then I take a bit of cottage cheese, a few bite size pieces of Pupperoni, sprinkle the pupperoni powder in it and mix well. It goes into the Kong and pop it in the freezer for about an hour. She runs to the refrigerator every time I open the freezer. At 6 months a full Kong keeps her enthralled for at least 45 minutes! |
