Porcelain Box with Handpainted Yorkie 1 Attachment(s) I painted this Yorkie on a 2 1/2 by 1 3/4 inch hinged porcelain box for my pastor's wife's birthday. She has a little Yorkie named Chip. I usually paint people, but I thought it would be fun to try to do this for her. It was SO much fun. I thought I'd show you all this picture and see if there is interest in commissioned boxes with pictures of your own Yorkies. I'm working on getting my web site up, but I'd talk turkey if someone wanted to. I don't know. Is this something I should pursue? |
Stunning! You did a great job, it looks so real! |

Wow I would say yes you should defintely pursue it!!! You did an amazing job....it looks so real!!! |
I have seen alot of weird painted Yorkies that arent proportional at all and yours is very cute, realistic and detailed. I like it :) You should definitely try it out! |
hobby Yes, you should...it is lovely! Take a look at EBay and see all the money you can make..two years ago I dressed a store bought teddy bear (discounted to $5) in a leopard print cape and hat I made from $5 of fabric..put her in a wicker chair ($5) and tucked a small stuff ($8)Yorkie under her arm..it sold for $320. |

Depends on what the compact is made out of. The paints I usually use are overglaze for porcelain and have to be kiln fired at over 1000 degrees. But I could use acrylics on just about anything, I guess. I don't have as much experience with acrylics. I think there are porcelain compacts in the catalogs. I could check. There are a lot of neat items like dog bowls and key chains, office accessories -- all sorts of things. |
