Eric Salas Panagenics products review Fairly recently I purchased panagenics conditioner, shampoo, hydrating spray, and texture crystals. I can say that so far I’m quite impressed with the conditioner. It reminds me a lot of vellus satin cream but dries a bit faster and softer than that product. It’s a leave in conditioner that you put on every night or so. And it seems to be good considering that in the winter months I’m always struggling with dealing with a dry coat, and so far I’m really liking it. The spray product is very nice for brushing. I’d describe it as being a very light conditioning spray that doesn’t leave the hair feeling too soft or weird feeling or anything like that. The shampoo is a bit odd in that it doesn’t sud up. Plus it’s odd to me that you are to apply the shampoo on dry hair on top of the conditioner, and then rinse it out. I haven’t had to deal with a really dirty coat with it yet so I can’t really comment on it’s merits in terms of cleaning a really dirty coat. The texture crystals I can’t comment on yet and I probably won’t use them till the next dog show I go to. As a side note, I attended a 3 day Eric Salas workshop - 2 days handling and 1 day grooming. I paid a lot of money for it and it was good but it repeated tons of the same things he has up on YouTube. And much of the stuff that can’t be found on the internet I had already learned from other dog show people. So it wasn’t like secret knowledge or something like that. Unfortunately I felt it wasn’t worth the price I paid. But I guess if you have an opportunity to go to one of his workshops, and $900 isn’t a lot of money to you, then I think you’d probably enjoy it. Might be able to get more out of private lessons with him but those I’d imagine are super expensive. But honestly though his techniques regarding training a dog for show are worth giving a shot and seeing if your dog responds well to his techniques. And so far I’m really liking his products! |
Panagenics is definitely on my list of grooming products to try this year. I buy by the gallon so I'll for sure try out the triple set to see if I like it before I purchase by the gallon. Thanks for the review. ☺️ |
Just a little update on my experience with these products because I’ve been using them for awhile now and I think I understand them a bit better. There is definitely silicone in the grooming spray. It definitely gives the coat that shiny reflective silicone type of look. I did hear Eric say that all grooming sprays have silicones in them, but he said only the cheap silicones leave your floor like an ice rink. Perhaps that’s whats in his grooming spray cause one spray on your floor and it turns so slippery. I’m not a hair guy but I’ve heard from others silicones are not good for the hair. But regardless of that I actually quite like this product. I can’t wrap my head around the shampoo of putting it on dry hair and then just rinsing it off. I find that doesn’t get the coat as clean as the regular type of method of using a shampoo. The conditioner is an absolute winner. I’ll be getting more of it for sure. |
