tips for thickening hair yorkie I am new in this breed. Pearly is my first Yorkye. I'm on unfamiliar terrain and any help is welcome with thanks in advance of course. I have a femele Yorkye of 8 mounth and the coat is rar and from the middle to the ends the hair is dry. I use shampoo and conditioner professional for Yorkshire terrier A wash her every week. I understand that it is better to give her some vitamins for hair growth. Can you recommend some good vitamins and sites where they can be buy online, pls? What other products do I need to use and sites where they can be buy?:animal-pa:):aimeeyork |
Hi and Welcome to YT! If you are feeding a good quality food I would not add vitamins. She is still very young... A Yorkie coat does not mature until 2-3 years of age. Most often a puppy with a thin coat will mature into an adult with a beautiful, silkie coat. Be patient.... You can use a brush conditioner for brushing and combing out in between baths. |
Thanks for the tips :):):):):animal-pa |
I was also told to wash no more than once every 3 weeks. The oils help the coat and prevents skin from drying. |

Massage and combing help keep skin healthy. Cleansing also removes dead skin cells and helps with pests, like fleas and flea eggs. |
Is she on a top quality food? Sometimes I think breeding has the most to do with their coats IMHO. |
Hi Yes. The food is on of the top. Thanks |
Make sure you leave in the conditioner for ten minutes. I wrap my Yorkies in a towel and hold him. THen do not rinse out all of the conditioner. Blow dry with cool air. No hot air. They should have fish oils. You can also use coconut oil. Proper comb out is important, no pulling on the hair. There is an absolutely great product by isle of dogs called nutrient masque. And gloss shampoo. If you can get it in your country. But in the end thickness of hair is genetic. The products above will help you keep her hair healthy and silken. |
Thanks for the tips Definitely I will doing that |
