Mane & Tail Detangler 1 Attachment(s) This stuff is amazing . The best thing I have found so far . It makes brushing so much easier . I took advice from two YT members in my other thread and started line brushing . It is more time consuming but so much easier .. This detangler makes the brush glide through with almost no pulling . Oscar's coat looks so full and shiny . The bottle is much bigger than I thought it would be .. I only paid $3.52 for a 12 oz bottle ... Actually I bought 5 because you get a discount :D 5 Stars . I highly recommend it ... Attachment 407639 Mane 'n Tail, Detangler Spray, 12 fl oz (355 ml) - iHerb.com |
Detangler I looked at the link and it seems the product does a great job. My dog is really sensitive to his hair being pulled, so does it really get rid of tangles like those that appear under a harness? I also wonder about leaving the product in the hair? Would any of the chemicals be harmful to a paw licking dog? Does the shine stay or does it get to look greasy after a short time? Thank you for the link.-) |
Agree 100% great product. I had run out a couple of years ago of dog detangler and had been using this on my hair. So shared some with Miss Gracie. Srayed, let it sit a couple of minutes and it made it so much better for both of us. Now hubby is using it also, so the whole family has a bottle. usually get it from Sally's when they have it on sale. Always have several bottles under the sink. |

I have been using it on Oscar for several days now . No sticky residue at all . Not greasy at all .. His hair is soft and shiny . Since I started using this product I have also started line brushing and their is no pulling .The tangles come right out . I spray a bit on each layer before brushing . Then spray the top layer and brush . It works great . Although it does imply that it is for horses it is also used for dogs , I have read many reviews have not read about any issues with it .. |

I have not tried it on myself yet . I may have to do that . I know it works great on Oscar .. |
Oscar Thank you for your comments. I will try it:) |
I use this on myself, my daughters and the pony- can't believe I haven't thought to try it out on lilah yet! Will do, thanks for the suggestion. I'm also a big fan of cowboy magic detangler but I understand it has a type of silicone in it that will cause build up over time, I wonder if mane n tail is silicone based too? Their conditioner has a leave in option which I have really appreciated time and time again. |

I don't see silicon in the ingredient. But i don't know 1/2 or those named. Fwiw silicone doesn't dissolve in water. It can wear out if there little amounts. But never seen water dissolve it. |

Anything that ends w/ 'cone' is some form of silicone., Just like pet food, the 1st 3 ingredient makes up the bulk of the product...as in this case, silicone. |
I am also using a - believe it is called - a rotating comb which is suppose to help a great deal with tangles. |

But I am corrected. The dimethicone is used as a moisturizer. The Peg67 Amodinethincone is a conditioner. Both are water soluble silicone. I'm just so use to industrial silicone with isn't. Water/Aqua/Eau, Dimethicone, PEG-7 Amodimethicone, Trideceth-6, Fragrance (Parfum), with Extracts of*: Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Leaf*, Larrea Divaricata (Chaparral)*, Tussilago Farfara (Coltsfoot) Flower*, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed*, Spiraea Ulmaria (Meadowsweet) Flower*, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower*, Methylchloroisothiazolinone/Methylisothiazolinone, Benzyl Benzoate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Alpha-isomethyl Ionone Then when I look up all the chemicals(sds) they say they aren't found in the urine...So that saying the body really isn't absorbing it.... But I can be wrong again .....:) I bought some to give it a try...right next to the ammo so I said what the heck. Small bottle |
