Harnesses -- they're related to weasels, right? Hi, I've had a real problem with harnesses and my 8-pound Yorkie. The puppy harness that we got him has a tendency to make him choke and we've tried a vest style one and, just last week, I got him a Gooby Choke Free harness -- for all of them, if he turns so that he's facing toward me and pulls, he pulls right out of the harness! I hadn't realized he could get out of the Gooby til I took him outside today and had to go back into the house for a minute to get something -- and suddenly there he was without his harness! I bought the smallest Gooby and measured him first and can't make it any tighter as-is.... I'm thinking that perhaps the best solution is to sew the Gooby so that it's a bit smaller on the head opening -- it's already fairly tight on the body opening. The material on the harness is light enough that I can use a needle and thread on it. What do you think? Thanks. Linda |
Safety is the biggest reason I love the Buddy Belt harness, which is made and sold in your hometown Toronto. :) Even when my Teddy was a boney puppy and we were convinced he was double jointed, he could not escape the BB. The harness doesn't come anywhere near the throat, so it doesn't put pressure on the windpipe even if the dog pulls. |

Lola, my moms cockapoo, has always been an awkward size. The small Puppia vest harness was too small to fit over her head but the medium is too big. So we got her the Puppia Rite Fit in small (that has adjustable neck) and it's perfect and totally secure! There's no way that's coming off her neck, and it's great for lifting her up into our arms etc. |
1 Attachment(s) The Buddy Belt was a game changer for us! IT IS FANTASTIC! We got a baby blue BB2 (synthetic leather Buddy Belt) for our puppy almost a year ago. It is still in great shape and we love it so much that I am buying a leather Buddy Belt for our puppy! It is a SUPER EASY to put on step-in, safe, Sparky loves it, AND it looks great! The hardest part is deciding which color to get! :) I want Marine (blue), Black or Silver... |

I LOVE Buddy Belts and so do my two boys. They've worn no other harness for years. We tried many others, but the BB has proven comfortable, impossible to get out of, even for my strong escape artist 12 pounder, and they're stylish! Plus, we love W. Field's for their selection of BBs and Kristin's (Maximo) superb customer service. :) |

Maximo & P-nut Mom - Thanks! I really appreciate you telling me the Marine has really soft leather, too. Last night, I ordered Marine (blue) in a size 3.5 for Sparky from W. Fields site. Cannot wait to see it on our boy! His size 3 BB2 is just a bit snug (2nd hole from the tip), so the half-size with bigger leg openings should be perfect. :) |

YAY! I'm sure you'll like it. We have the same issue with the size 3 BBs, especially those that are not as soft, a 3 is tight for Pickles (7lbs). The 3.5 Marine works great on him, especially if he has a shirt on:) |
I just ordered the buddy belt in sprout green!!! It matches Coopers bow tie :) |
Hi, I thought I should provide an update. I bought an Extra Small red IPuppyone Adjustable Dog Soft Harness. It's a lot like a Puppia harness but both the head and the body portion is adjustable. I finally have a harness Monty can't get out of. He looks rather nice with his red harness and leash. Linda |
