Harnesses Hey all, wasn't sure where to post this…so please move if needed :) I'm wondering about good harnesses for yorkies. I have two girls and am looking to get them good, COMFORTABLE harnesses. We like to go on walks and warm weather is creeping up on us over here! I want something that is easy and quick to take on and off and will LAST! I was looking at the buddy belts, however they're kind of expensive but that's the style that I'm looking for. I really like the harnesses that snap instead of buckle, so any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you :) |
The Buddy Belt, hands down!!! I have, um, 6 of them or so :D?!!! Our YT member, Maximo, sells them and is an excellent vendor - can't recommend her highly enough. |
Check out the buddy belt 2 on Kristin's web site. It is less expensive than the leather one. Trust me, it is better to pay a little more and get a good harness. In an emergency it could save your pup's life. My pups used to be able to back out of a lot of the other harnesses and they knew they could escape so they did it time after time. So scary when they get out and run loose in the street. They have never gotten out of a buddy belt. Buddy Belt Harness |
Thank you guys! I will splurge then and get them the Buddy Belts! Anything for my fur babies! :) I wish they snapped instead of buckled though! |
Check out all the step in harnesses that don't touch on the throat. My girls have the BB's. I live the buckles because whether they wear coats, sweaters, lightweight shirts or nothing at all, the buckle is easier and faster to adjust. They also have silk step in harnesses that Chattiesmom makes that we also use and love. Many colors of silk to choose from and they are very, very well made, harness too. |
If you are looking for another option that is a bit cheaper possibly look into Choke-Free leather harnesses. They also have a mesh version now that is also step in. They don't buckle or have a belt, it's velcro but you pull the d-ring through the hole, so when the leash is on, there's no physical way it could come undone. I like both for different reasons! |
Do you have a website for those Brit?? I tried contacting ChattiesMom a few days ago but haven't received anything back. |
I might be wrong, but doesn't the choke free allow very little room for adjustment if you are going to put a coat or sweater on your pup? I used to have them but switched to BB I think because I couldn't use the choke free with a coat. |
I myself prefer puppia vest harnesses |

I finally broke down and bought a BB and I love it!!! I also have one of the step in ones and I really like it almost as well and they are much cheaper. I had found a vest type that I loved too. I guess it depends on what is safe and comfy for your baby. |
