Dog Stroller - 3 or 4 wheels?!
 
We are going on vaca in a couple of months and are taking both pups with us. I am in the market for a pink dog stroller that is under $100. Only wanting to use it for vacation trips (walking/shopping.) I have seen several that I like on eBay but wanted to ask here first. I have searched older posts but they are very old and would like to hear from more recent experiences/opinions. Both girls need to fit in it - our yorkie is 10 lbs and our chihuahua is 4 lbs. I prefer the look of the 3 wheel ones but safety is for sure my #1 priority.

This is the stroller we have and love. I've had it for 2 years now. It's excellent on sand and rougher terrain depending where you are vacationing. It doesn't meet your price point but this is my 3rd stroller due to not liking the quality of cheaper strollers. Too light and not stable enough for us.

I have three wheel style Pet Gear and I love it. I've had it four years now and used it on all kind of terrain. It maneuvers easily and is very stable. I would definitely recommend it!

I prefer the 3 wheel ones but had read somewhere about them trying to tip over...

One thing I think is important is the wheel size. I have one that has the smaller wheels and it is hard to push unless you are on a hard surface. I am looking for one with the bigger wheels.

Yes you must have the larger wheels and rubber tires. I can't stress that enough. Must have rubber tires. I learned that the hard way.

Where are you going that you need those big, blow up type tyres?

I originally looked at the bigger tyre strollers, but I had a ford mustang at the time, and they wouldn't fit in the back of the car. I bought the Pet Gear with the smaller wheels, and that thing has been everywhere! I go to alot of festivals and fairs that are held in some pretty rough and lumpy fields, and it pushes easily. Its also been on board walks and the sandy beach alot. I liked it so much, I bought a second one, so one always stays in my car.

I use it on the beach, sidewalks, roads, at festivals and fairgrounds, you name it. Even plain old sidewalks are no match for plastic wheels. They are horrid.

I agree. We go to outside festivals and markets and pushing one with small wheels just wears you out. Even hard for hubby to push it. Don't waste your money on one with those small plastic wheels. I wish I did't because in the end they are no bargain.

So I ended up ordering the pink stroller off eBay. Got the stroller Friday and we love it and most important Lilly loves it! Will be perfect for our vacation trip to the mountains!! :p:thumbup::aimeeyork

Very cute! It looks like she's really taken to it.

As i said previously, i liked mine so much I bought a second identical one (my thoughts being that if anything broke on either, the parts would be interchangeable.)

mine have the smaller plastic tires and and have literally been everywhere, sandy beach, gravel nature trail, pavement, rough fields that host fairs, wood chips at the renaissance festival, with no problems.

Fyi, mine does have a lock on the front wheel, that you can engage on certain terrain to make it push easier and stop the front wheel from swiveling, so be sure to check yours and see if it does too.

This is what we have and it has been great! My first Yorkie loved it plus she was allergic to bees so I could walk and walk and keep her safe. We practically wore the tread off the wheels. My new pup only used it when her leg was broken, she would rather walk, run, jump etc. for miles and miles :eek:
