What's the best product to detangle yorkies hair Bo$$'s hair gets really tangled after baths and he's yelps a lot when I try to brush him. Is there any product that works well so we both will be happy and also he has dandruff anything to get rid of that ? |
Do you use a conditioner? Conditioners really help soften the hair, blow drying the hair dry also helps untangle any tangles. I use a human dryer set to cool (room temp circulating air) setting. It's best to brush everyday & go over it w/a comb. Puppy hair tends to tangle a lot more & they're very sensitive @ this stage. What I did was just cut off the stubborn tangles w/blunt tipped scissors & brush them several x's a day. I managed to grow Momo's thick soft cottony, tangles when he moves hair floor length & chopped it off. Wanted to spend more time cuddling w/him than brushing him! |
I have heard you should never brush the hair when it's completely dry, so I use Chris Christensen's Ice on Ice and his Silk Spirits. Originally bought them for the poodle, but love them for the Yorkie. |
I like the detangler from Yorkie splash and shine. Yorkie Splash and Shine and it's called Yorkie Sheen. |
this may sound dumb but can you use yorkie splash and sheen on puppies? |
Prevent the hair from pulling the skin by holding the hair with one hand and brushing/combing with the other. Work in small sections. Right after a bath, when the boys are still wet, I use mainly my fingers and sometimes a very wide tooth metal comb (Madan from Jenny's toplinepet.com). I don't do any serious combing or brushing until they are closer to dry. |
thank you |

I use Yorkie Splash & Shine Detangler on Buster, he tangles and this really gets out his mats. I use it on Maggie although she doesn't mat, it smells good and they feel so soft after I use it. |
