Crate instead of Cage I do not think emma likes her cage...neither do I. I'm thinking about going tonight and getting a crate. I know this is a carrier but will it work: http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1136493355931 Thanks |
I hope Emma will like that .I was told most doggies like the cages better because they can see whats going on,Miss mini doesnt mind her cage at all One morning I couldnt find her only to see that she had went to bed in her crate all by herself hahaha so cute ~ Deb |
really? dang, maybe ill just stick w/the cage...give her some more time. |
When I first got Hallie she had been kept in a small plastic carrier 24 hours a day. I was really worried about her and a metal cage but she loves it! It took awhile for Simon to adjust but he likes it too. Maybe give her some more time to adjust or try putting an article of yours in there with her like a tshirt. That might help her. |
I'd try the cage awhile longer, Bailey doesn't mind his at all, I have fluffy furry pads and a blanket and lambswool mat,, it's so comfy looking I wanna crawl in sometimes. |
yeah we just have a towl down in it, the thing is it is constently in our bed room and never in the living room. so i'm thinking about moving it into the living room while she is playing and back to bed room when its time to sleep. I was also reading some training tips i may try w/her. |
It might take her awhile, but I would stick with it. Goodluck with the training! :) |
That is the kind of crate I use for my dogs; all 6 of them. Worked for me & them. |
You could try putting a blanket over the wire crate. It's the only way Pixie will sleep in hers, she doesn't like the open air concept of the wire, she prefers a cozy den! I've seen some places that sell covers just for this purpose (Google "Wire Dog Crate Covers"). But the small throw blanket works well enough. I like my wire crate because it folds down flat for easy travel, where I find the plastic crates can be a bit cumbersome to drag along (even if you disassemble it). It's nice to bring along if we're going to a friends for the afternoon or spending the night somewhere. That way she has her own familiar space to retire to if she wants to take a nap or just get away for a bit. |
You might want to try putting a towel or sheet or top to block the light some. That worked for mine. They love looking out, but it still gives that "cave" feel. |
