I need a wireless heated bed/mat My room gets bitter cold at night and there's nothing I can do about it. The past few nights Lola has been wearing a shirt, sleeping on top of me, and being covered with a blanket. It can't have a wire, Lola is a chewer and there aren't any outlets by my bed. Would something like this work? Self-Warming Crate Pad in Gray on Sale Now |
We have one like that, it seems to have a shiny thin flexible plastic layer in between (like an emergency car "blanket") The pups don't seem to notice a difference between that one and some of the others we have. We have all tile floors and they get really cold -we put the mats around the house. I grew up in NJ and slept in an attic bedroom- I can't imagine her sleeping anywhere but with you! |

My room is the attic, I only have one small radiator, a comporable area downstairs has 4. My poodle used to get under the blankets, wore shirts, and I think her hair provided more protection. |
I make the girls little round stuffed beds out of fleece throws. We keep one on each end of the couches and they curl up in them. I think someone on here made them for sale. Maybe they were called cinch beds? A round fleece circle gathered at the top edge into a cup shape... |
Somebody else uses and recommended this pet heating pad on another thread recently.... Amazon.com: Snuggle Safe Pet Bed Microwave... I bookmarked it because I plan on ordering it for the boys. I like the fact that you can warm it up, instead of just relying your pets body warmth to warm it up...although these guys do put out quite a lot of heat on their own. Ricky(who's always freezing) is like my little heating pad when he lays on me. I can see why they used to put dogs in their sleeves to use as hand warmers in Asia!! |

Lola is like a heating pad too, I guess they expel the heat rather than retaining it. Quote:
I would use an electric blanket, but I'm afraid of Lola biting the wires. |

This sounds perfect for the op & her pup :) On a secondary note, I'm one of the people here on yt that makes the cinch style beds. I also make snuggle sacks which are basically double layered fleece bags that the pups can burrow into to keep warm. OP- I hope you come back & let us know how the microwavable mat works out for you! |
We buy the Susan Lanci cuddle cups and I love it because it can be like a cup where they burrow down into, a blanket, or like a sleeping bag bed. My girls love snuggling up in them! |
1 Attachment(s) Have you thought about getting PJs for your baby. I just got a custom order for boy who can't wear store bought ones. He likes to sleep on his crate but gets cold. My house stays cool about 60-65 degrees in winter. We like the chill |
Thanks everyone. She's been sleeping in a baby onsie turned into a t-shirt, it covers most of her back. She was still shivering so I'm going to make her some fleece shirts. |
