Inexpensive cross body dog carrier? I'd really like to get a fundle or a cuddle up sling, but I don't want to spend that much money until Lola's fully grown and I know she'll use it. She's 5 months old and 4 pounds right now, her legs are pretty short. If it matters I'm 5'2. She'll want to be able to stick her head out the top. I'm looking at these carriers, has anyone tried them? The 1st and last have good amazon reviews, but I can't find anything about the second. 3 Colors Oxford Cloth Sling Pet Dog Cat Carrier Tote Single Shoulder Bag s M L | eBay ![]() I think this one will be too big Pink Soft Sling Dog Cat Carrier Single Shoulder Bag Pets Magic Bag | eBay |
Did you look at the slings Yorkie Haven has on their website? |

While many look the same, they are not all the same. I only know this because I went through so many until I found the Cuddle Up a few years ago. There are certain features to look for....does it have a zipper? Does it have a clip inside to hold the pup in? Does it have support in the bottom for the pup? Is the strap adjustable? Those things are important to me. |

Why don't you just get a more expensive better made sling that your pup can grow into? I bought all of the "temporary" products thinking that I'd buy a better one when they were full grown. But they grow up so fast & the cheap stuff gets thrown in a closet. I feel like I wasted so much money on crappy stuff. Unless you're using it while you're on your laptop or sitting down, a sling really needs a sturdy bottom for the pup to be comfortable. Otherwise, they get all squished & you end up holding the bottom of the sling/pup because you feel bad for them. I would also recommend one with a tether. You never know if your pup is going to see a squirrel or something & try to chase after it. |
One more thing...I'm around your height, 5'1. Trust me...you want an adjustable strap. Everything's made for tall people. :( |

The ones I'm looking at have clips (I could also add one), and the first 2 have adjustable straps. Thanks for the help |
The Eastside Collection black & fuschia one is a piece if fabric sewn into a loop like an infinity scarf. It does have a little dip on the bottom for the pup to fall into, but it's a very slight dip. |

I don't want to buy a more expensive one because I'm not sure how big she's going to get, I think she'll be around 5lbs, and I don't know if she'll tolerate being in a carrier. I've also spent at least $500 on Lola already, on top of the price to actually buy her, so I don't really want to spend $70+ on a carrier right now. Thanks |
Do you sew? There are patterns for slings and you could make one that you like inexpensively! |

I think the first one you linked seems pretty nice, especially for the price! It looks like the dog goes far enough in it and it looks like it has adjustable straps. It looked like the second one you linked the dog wasn't far enough into it. By the way, if the sling is too big you can always put some blankets at the bottom. The third one didn't look quite as comfortable as the first and I wasn't sure if it had adjustable straps. |
