Boar bristle brush VS pin brush? Ive been using a pin brush from all systems on my Yorkie, which has worked fine. But Ive also seen others use boar brushes on their yorkies, even though the website says it works best on Collies. Please tell me your experience if you use a boar brush or have used both. I was wondering what would work better for their coat. Also, if you have used a boar brush, please tell me the brand. I figured Id check here first, before shelling out the 40-60 bucks they usually go for and figuring it out myself. Thanx! |
I use a slicker brush so I can't be of much help but from what I understand, if you're going to use a pin brush, make sure it's one without the knobs at the tips. Also the boar's brush is much easier on the coat. |
I use a pin brush when they are wet or damp and sometimes even when they are dry...I use a boar bristle brush when they are all but dry, or after I lightly mist them with a spritz. So I'd have to say I need them both. I buy my boar bristle brushes at Sally Beauty Supply. I buy my pin brushes from pet edge. Sally's has lots of different brands of boar brushes made for human hair, and I love them. Don't really have a favorite. |

This is the one Im currently using: http://www.stylebelt.ee/groomers/ima...asticsmall.jpg It doesnt have the plastic knobs on the end. Yorkiemom, thanx for the tips. I didnt even think to check Sallys. Im sure they are alot cheaper as 40 dollars on a brush is spendy. Thanx for all the helpful comments so far :) |
