Bow size
 
Hi guys :D

you're probably sick and tired of me posting by now haha but I was curious as to what size bows look best on new babies? Miley is 12 weeks today! and last time she was weighed she was 1.5 lbs. I am looking for a cute bow to bring her home in but I'm not sure about the sizes! thanks! I'll try to not post so much I just get really excited because she will be here in 7 1/2 days:eek::D:D:D

also what kind of attachment do you suggest for puppies?

bands, alligator clips, etc.

LOL! I most certainly understand your excitement!! I'm wondering what age your new pup will be? We brought Princess Sophie home at just over 9 weeks of age and I never even thought of putting a bow on her at that time. I was just too excited! LOL Good luck and be sure to have fun and don't forget to pack the Nutrical!!

she is 12 weeks today and will be 13 and 2 days weeks when I get her next weekend! Definitely will pack the nutrical thanks for the tip!! I would've never known about it if it wasn't for this forum.

I started with small bows (I can't remember the measurement at the moment) and moved to bigger bows as Kiko grew bigger and adjusted to having the weight of a bow on her head.
Congratulations on your new puppy. Any idea on what you are going to name her?

My big boys wear the 7/8 inch bows, so choose the smaller ones. Although an oversized bow can look cute too.

I would go with a few 3/8" with the alligator clips. Then maybe a couple of the 5/8" that she can grow into. Personally, I think the bigger 5/8" bows look cute on a tiny puppy every now & then. If you get matching 3/8" ones, she can always wear them as pigtails when she's a little bigger ;)

Okay! Will the alligator clips stay in? I don't want to lose my bows

I think the 3/8 inch is probably the best to get her used to bows. Be careful with any clips or barrettes, since they can be a choking hazard. I mostly use bands for Katie. I hope Miley brings you great love and joy.

Will the bands be better to use on her?

The clips are easier to put in, but I definitely think bands are safer and the bow stays nicer with bands. I worry about a clip falling out and a little one chewing on the bow. It can't happen with a band that's put in properly and there's no metal without a clip. I hope you don't mind that I keep linking Susan's BowBiz site. She's wonderful to work with, her bows are beautiful, and she offers a $2.00 discount to YT members. There are always specials and surpRise bows.

I know you need a bow to take Miley home in, and you need it soon. I don't have any 3/8" bows, but a I have some nice 5/8" bows. If you PM me your address, I'll givre you one of my bows for your beautiful Miley.

No I don't mind at all! thats actually the site I was looking on :) I just hadn't found the bow sizing guide. That was SUPER helpful! I think I will just get the band. Hopefully there's enough hair up there to keep the bow in!
