Enthusiastic dental cleaning, LOL So here we are, getting ready for our shopping trip to Petsmart, and Dave asks if I will clean Wosie's teeth as he thought her breath was a little icky, lol. I take out one of her Premier Pet Natural Dental Wipes, which she loves, and she and I are wiping her teeth down with the minty fresh wipe. She really enjoys it, lets me wipe, I let her chew, she lets me wipe, I let her chew. It's easy! So we are winding down the session, and I let her have the wipe. She chews on it a sec, drops it, then SPITS TWO TEETH INTO MY LAP!!! OOOOHHHH!!! :p Poor kid, I can't wait until teething is done!! hahahaha |
Oh my goodness! I guess those wipes are really something!! What brand are they?? |
Dental wipes Premier Pet Natural Dental Wipes, I get them at Petsmart. They're great! I don't think they are SUPPOSED to knock their teeth out, lol! Wosie's just in the major throes of teething, poor girl! :p |
That's funny! Now you've got some teeth to save! :D |

Great way to get rid of baby teeth though so I will head over to Petsmart and seeing about getting some for little Candi. She is only 2 lbs and has a double set of teeth., We are terrified to have her ansthetized in order to remove her baby teeth. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL |
:yelrotflm Yeah really, what a way to save on vet bills! |
I'm going to try using wipes on cali's teeth. Her two front teeth are loose and the adult teeth are coming in behind but I can't seem to get the baby teeth out. |
Hey, pulling teeth was NOT my intention, lol It was purely a benefit of cleaning the teeth she has, and I am actually pleased that they came out. Wosie has only one double tooth at this time, and unfortunately it is right in the front. I keep wiggling on the baby tooth, but it doesn't seem to be too loose yet. I figure when the adult tooth gets big enough, it ought to push the baby tooth out, right? I would hate to have her put under just to pull teeth... |
My Vet Told Me That Prince Needed To Get His Teeth Cleaned Professionally Or He Might Be Exposing Himself To A Whole Bunch Of Germs Through His Dirty Teeth. Do Anyone Know About The Importance Of Dental Cleansing For Yorkies And How Frequently To Do It? Its Going To Cost Me $130 So I Need To Know If Its Really Necessary. Prince Also Has Two Baby Teeth Left. You Think These Dental Wipes Might Work? |
If your vet says so... Quote:
It's difficult keeping yorkie teeth clean because they are so small. Many don't want you to put your fingers or implements in their mouths and will fight you like a wildcat if you try. Vets put them under and scrape the teeth and under the gumline, much like your dentist during a cleaning. If your vet said your pup needs a dental, it's likely you should get it done. Good luck! |
ALRIGHT! Wosie is growing up! |
