XXS Harness? Hi there all I have a question about harnesses! I have a new puppy my first yorkie Bella Rose she is tiny 1.3lbs and is 11wks! I haven't been able to find a harness that will fit her...does anyone have advice on what to do or where I could find a small enough harness for her? |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk and congratulations on the new addition! Some people have had luck with ferret harnesses from the pet store. Funny, but true! |
Lil' Pals makes some small ones. And kitty collars. I have a harness and leash that I got but never used. I would sell cheap :) |
Oh good idea I would have never thought of a ferret harness! Thanks I've tried the Lil pals still not small enough... I also tried a cat collar just for looks and still not small enough! LOL thanks for the help! |
I have a Puppia harness that fits Tatiana. She is 1.6 lbs and it a little loose but not bad. It is an xs but it has velcro that is adjustable to fit. |
Thanks Deb1 I will look at those! |

If I was you I would have one custom made by Karen at Gracie Paw Prints in IN, she is on ETSY. Her harnesses are like little vests with ruffles on the bottom. Very cute and safe for walking, with the velcro it could give you some adjustment for growth and they go off and on easily, sometime I keep Lola in one all day. She is not very expensive, you could get one for around $16.00 made to the size you want. I will come back and post a link to her site. |

OH my goodness this sounds like something I would defiantly be interested in thanks so much!!! |
just this morning I came across The gracie paw facebook page, so I posted several pictures of Lola wearing her harness dresses, I posted the link below if you care to check it out. You can also get the harnesses without the little skirt. I have her make the skirts a little longer since that is my preference. I do have some traditional harnesses as well, I find the less strap adjustment the easier the vest is to work with and I like the step in type. I have a puppia style vest bought at Wallmart, guess I will get that link to. And the one they call step in, this one has thin straps and does not show when worn under fancy dresses that do not have d rings. In my opinion there are a lot of overpriced harnesses out there and some are tricky to put on. With a puppy I would not invest a lot until you decide on what style fits your needs. This is the style I have from Wallmart, very good price but on line it does not look like anything small enough, however right now Wallmart is putting out their spring stuff for pets, it's a free standing display somewhere near their pet department and they have this type of vest in pretty colors in very small sizes, I saw it at mine a week or so ago. but go quick all the very small pet stuff sells out quickly. They also had cute leashes, beds, sundresses and bathing suits for cheap prices and cute colors. Good luck, hope you find what you are looking for. I know choke*free and buddie belt make very small harness but the baby will outgrow so fast. I like the idea of a ferret harness.. |
Thanks I've been trying to upload a pic keeps saying failure to load I'll try again!! |

I used a kitten harness on teddy when I first got him, or take a sock make sweater harness. Buy sock at dollar store. Cut off heel, cut hole for head and legs. Sew a key ring on back instant harness. |
Before you invest in a harness she will outgrow quickly, check out the ferret harnesses at Petco and Petsmart. They are adorable and have matching leashes for around eight dollars. I used them on two of my girls when they were tiny. |
