leanlix Has anyone else tried Leanlix? leanlix I bought the sampler Lil' Lix size and omg Ruby and Rosie go bananas over every flavor but the strawberry. Rosie caught on quickly to lick don't bite...Ruby is a work in progress. Was wondering if any one else had tried them or if those that understand good treat ingredients vs not so good ingredients had an opinion on them???? |
After learning about the all the sugar, fat and salt in dog treats my concern would be that the first two ingredients are sugar Corn syrup and Glucose syrup. The nutritionist I went to with Buster said the best treats are the ones with meat as the only ingredient or as the first of a very few ingredients with no sugar, grains, or salt. So that is a dog flavored lollipop. Sorry. |
I wondered about that Carolyn so you definitely didn't hurt my feelings!! :) I was just curious if it made a difference as too how much they had...a dog treat versus a couple licks every now and then??? But I suppose sugar is sugar eh? Thanks for you thoughts its appreciated!! |
I am trying to cut down sugar in my life too. I have been a sugar addict since childhood. I must have passed my bad habits on to Buster  |
I like the idea of a dog lollipop though...hmm..i may need to spend some time with a blender and freezer. Jess gulps everything. I love to have something she could only lick that would keep her occupied... |

Some lickable items that are quick and freezeable are peanut butter or 1/2 plain canned pumpkin and 1/2 plain yogurt mixed together and freezed. You can also put it in a kong. Which will last longer. |
I agree with the lots of sugar. Its not something you would give them to lick continuously, many times at a crack, or even daily. For instance last night (im a bad puppy mom...they are just learning things like sit stay shake etc) I asked Ruby to sit and held the leanlix out when she sat and she got one lick. We tried it three times so she got three licks. Her eyes followed that leanlix wherever I moved it. So I will use it sporadically, maybe a few licks one or two days a week in between other high value items for just something different. I definately would not make it a common treat. Hey Teri thanks for those other frozen treat ideas...im going to definitely try them. My girls LOVE pumpkin treats! |
