Indoor potty
 

Has anybody tried the Rascal potty box for indoors? Can you tell me your experience and whether you liked it or not? Thanks a million!

I purchased the "Pet Loo" for Lucy when I first got her. Lucy just like to sleep on the turf. She piddled on the floor. Now the Loo sits on my deck and is very lonely...:(

hi , my oscar uses the rascal dog litterbox.
it is awesome. He uses it 100% and he has free run of the house.
he uses it with the just the grate , he did not like the grass or potty pads.
i like the high sides cause oscar likes to hike his leg .

I use it and absolutely LOVE it!! I removed the grate and put
Pottypads in it... I also have a diaper genie so there is no
smell in my place... I live on the back side, 5th floor of a
Building... Ry also goes outside but I have this for times I
am not home...

Hi, glad I am not the only one as Milly does the same. Love the rascal dog litter box tray. I don't use the grass or the grate but use potty pads in it and use the 'holder' to hold the pad in place. I also live in an apartment so she doesn't have access to a garden. I keep the tray out on the balcony and she sort of has learnt to let me know when she has to go. When I am at work she has full run of the place and I keep a pad by the balcony door so she can go if she wants. However she still hasn't learnt to potty while on walks (she's 5 and a half months)! Hmmmmm...

LOL! I remember when Riley was that age...
We would go on walks and he would immediately
come inside and go use the pad... He still will
Occasionally do that. He turned 2 in May...

hahahaha omg my little georgie girl did EXACTLY the same thing when i was first starting to take her out...she will be 5 months in 2 days and is starting to learn that its okay to pee outside but unfortunately i still have no idea when she's sniffing just to sniff and when she's sniffing to find a potty place....and she's also a big fan of the walking or running pee as well, and half the time will still go right to the pad when we come back in...go figure lol :rolleyes:

anyways, im glad you asked this because i've also been trying to find a good holder for the pads (Georgie loves to pee half on and half off the mat so that it goes under it and i have to throw the whole thing away). I've seen little Oscar's mom's postings about the rascal dog box thing before (so cute btw), but because georgie's a girl i dont really need the high sides (and am afraid that they'd freak her out too much to use it...and by freak her out, i mean she'd probably think it was a new toy to chew on or obstacle to jump over lol...

I'd really like something low profile and not too noticable...just something simple to keep it in place and hopefully keep her peeing all on the mat. I've seen some that are more just trays that you set the holder in, and thats what i initially wanted, but then i saw one thats more just hollow sides that clip together around it...at first i wasnt wild about the idea, but now i'm wondering if it'd be easier since there wouldnt be a tray to clean (i'm also in an apartment so its not like i have a hose or anything...and if it leaked i feel like itd be a lot easier to just clorox wipe the floor as opposed to washing the whole thing off in my bath tub)

any thoughts or ideas???...idk if either of these were what you were thinking, but thought i'd share my similar questions lol

I have a Utility Room, with a Doggy Door, giving my two access to the outside just about 24/7. I occasionally put Newspaper right in front of the DDoor for when they are just too stubborn to go outside. That usually is when it's raining. They don't mind jumping into the Bayou after a Frog or Shake, but don't like to get rained on.... go figure :confused:

I get the Newspaper daily, and the use of it probably saves me a fair amount.

Hi, Lol glad to know Milly is not the only! I've stayed out with her for hours and the monkey would hold it and run to her tray as soon as we get in and does a massive wee! Not sure how to get it through to her 'it's ok to do your business outside tooo'. Any suggestions?

Anyway mine is a little girl and the high sides doesn't seem to bother her at all as there is a lowered front entrance and she has learnt to do a little jump over the tray after she's done the deed. Also I don't wash the whole tray in the tub when I change her pads I use a pet friendly disinfectant spray that deodorises, cleans and kills off bacteria etc and wipe clean with disposable towels. I like the rascal dog tray as you can use the holder to keep the pad in place. No more mess outside the pad (or thinking pad is a toy & tearing it into a zillion pieces). I hope you find something that would suit you:)

none of them trap the oder of urine, and smell horrible after a day. They are difficult to clean, unless you have a back yard to hose them down. If you had a backyard, then your pup should be going outside.

We use EZwhelp pads...washable. we bought 4 and rotate them. they keep the floor clean, and our apartment no longer smells like doggie pee. they wash good, and seem to last forever. they are cheap as well. search for ezwhelp pads

no need for a diaper genie, or odor neutralizer. just a washing machine

Are all Yorkies so hard to Potty Training, We have tried everything and our two refuse to use the potty pads. Just moved to a new home and they still won't use the potty pads, won't go outside either carpet is there spot and we are so tired of cleaning up pee and poop.

Any suggestion

in my experience with oscar he refused to use the potty pads when i brought him home from the breeder.
he liked the carpets .
i had potty pads all over the house .
so i decided to try something different and got the
rascal dog litterbox but instead of grass or pads i set it up just using the grate and i confined oscar to a corner of my living room with a stretched out ex-pen..
after a couple weeks he was using the box , now he uses it 100%.
i guess the trick is to find what works for your dog.....
