Buddy Belts!! We finally received our Buddy Belts in the mail today! I have to say... when I opened the package, I was kind of disappointed. Khloe's size two seemed tiny. I expected more of a harness and it seemed kind of dinky. When I put them on, they both felt kind of tight. They were both on the second to last hole (without clothes), and I was upset. I let them walk around with them on... and then checked how tight they were. I was able to tighten Couver's one more hole but Khloe is still on the second to last. I'm going to see how I feel about them after they wear them for a while... I'm hoping I didn't wait 3 weeks to send them back :( |
I've only seen the size three, both of my boys wear the three. The second one I ordered is much stiffer than the 5 year old one, but I guess it was stiffer 5 years ago. My boys are 5 1/2 pounds and 4 1/2 pounds, how big are your girls? I've read that you can put them in the last whole if they are wearing clothes, but otherwise you shouldn't. |

When I was looking at the BB's, I will admit I thought the 3 was way too small for Kaji. I was holding a 5, but the sales person recommended I went smaller. It wasn't until we had it on Kaji that I saw how misleading they looked. |
My Buddy Belts arrived today! I ordered from Maximo. She was super fast btw. :) Peyton is a skinny 5 pounds and I ordered him the size 3. I wish they had a 2.5...without clothes on I think the 3 is maybe just a tinge to big. Sophia is a curvy 7.5 pounds. Unlike Peyton, she always wears clothes. The 3.5 is perfect on her. My next order will be a red one for Peyton and a pink one for Sophia! ;) |
4 Attachment(s) I took some quick pictures today before we headed out with Couver and Khloe in their jackets for the dog park. I will have to post some nekkid pictures tomorrow :p |
1 Attachment(s) I went by their measurments because I thought it would be more accurate than their weights... Khloe is a very tall and skinny 5.0 pounds and Couver is a more stocky/muscly 7.0 pounds. I don't remember their measurements, but they were right in the middle of their sizes, so I thought they would be perfect... I didn't want them too small or too big. Ugh. I just don't know. I'm starting to think they are fine. I think the 3 would be too big on K. I guess I could try Couver's on Khloe. |

Also with the BBs... where the leash connects, should it be centered on their backs like regular harnesses? Both Couver and Khloe's are farther to the right |

The hot pink looks awesome on Khloe, and the black is super cool on Couver! Perfect color choices. Try Couver's size 3 on Khloe nekkid. I know she is a string bean from your pictures. If the size 3 is too big on her, then work on manually stretching the arm circles of the size 2. The BB will loosen up with use, but you can help it along. |

Thank you so much Kristin! |
I have to say, I did not like my BB at first and actually returned both of them! :( Jackson was in between a 5 and a 6 and so I bought both and could not decide between the two, but the difference was substantial between the 5 and 6. One looked a lot bigger than the other... I was very "ehhh" about them and after paying $80, "Ehhh" wasn't good enough for me so I returned them. Probably 7 months later (this past October, I think) I don't know what came across me but I decided to try it one more time, going with the size 5 and now I'm in love! I don't know, it was kind of weird, it took me a while. Now it's almost the only harness we use.... I went with 5 because the 6 had a "bulk" where the d-ring was and when I'd buckle it, it would bunch up if that makes sense (because on the 6, it had to be tightened almost all the way) whereas the 5 it's on the loosest end (either hole 1 or hole 2) so we have more of a "centered" harness. |

It is a big change from a traditional strappy harness or a vest harness. Not everyone will be converted. (wish I could convince Teddy to wear that hot pink, lol, it so pretty :p) |
