Himalayan Chews LOVE THEM!:aimeeyork:thumbup: |
But they aren't seeming to last as long as i thought they would. My dogs have had them for about a half hour and they have definitely done some work on them. They sure do love them though. |
I've heard of them often, what kind of a chew are they? |
I have read varied reviews on the Himalayan chew. Apparently some dogs just won't touch them. Anyone's dog have stomach upset after chewing one up? |
They are all natural chews that are made from dried Yak and Cow's milk. These are hard pieces that I have heard are supposed to last a while for the dog to chew through and are safer than some of the other chews around where pieces can break off and become lodged in the dogs throat. They are similar to the idea of bully sticks. I just gave the chew to my dog and will soon see if it upsets his stomach at all. If it does I will definitely update and let everyone know. |
Where can I get some? |
One of the sellers here on YT sells them (RDB911). I purchased them from their site: Puppy Pads - Puppy Training Pads - Puppy Pee Pads they are listed under Treats and Chews. They are a bit pricey, I searched around and this site was the best price I found. |
I get the medium size for ZoE and she loves them. The small size, in my opinion, is too small and they don't have long to chew on them before you have to throw them away so they aren't a choking hazard. They last a very long time compared to bullysticks. |
I would opt for the medium size next time. I got the small this time and Leo has already chewed about half way down it. |
Jackson's last him a long time! He does not like them as much as bully sticks but he will go over and chew on it every now and then. So ours last for a while since he doesn't aggressively chew them. I will sometimes use a knife to scrape some off so it makes it more appealing to Jackson for some reason. |
Ours don't last long. If they chewed them they would but the biggest problem we have is that one of the dogs always drops it when he's running through the house trying to keep it away from the other  Max likes them, but not as much as bully sticks. I've never really seen Cooper get into one except to bury it in the dirt in the backyard. |

Order the bigger ones. I ordered the large ones and they last much longer than the smaller ones and my 2 littles dont have any trouble knawing on them, my 4 pound toy poodle carries it around in her mouth so her bigger brother wont eat it all..:p |
I sell them on my site if anyone needs to order them. The chews are a BIG hit around my house |
I ordered the medium a week or two ago, and I need more!!! Uni's gm purposedly broke it in half thinking it was too big and heavy, but I told her it's supposed to be big so she can't choke on it. Anyway, I think that made it easier for Uni to chew hers down. I'm going to order the large now. She loved it more than her wishbones. |
